You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Sep 30, 2026The series DOES seem to be winding-down...though Wilson has said that she’s going to “ride the bus until the wheels fall off” with Poison Ivy. Given how good the series has been, let’s just hope that the wheels aren’t falling off any time soon. There haven’t been any future issues of Poison Ivy solicited in the recent past. It seems like it could be a while before Pamela returns at the end of the Bad Seeds event if nothing else. Time will tell. It’s been one hell of a ride over the course of the past 4 years. It’ll be interesting to see where Pamela’s journey continues...IF she survives the crossover... Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - William Tucker
Sep 30, 2026Poison Ivy Issue 48 rids Ivy of any world she felt she belonged in. Wilson keeps reminding us why Ivy is a villain while tugging at the strings of sympathy. When that isolation sets in, it creates a harrowing atmosphere. Read Full Review

Fanlight Zone - Ken M.
Sep 30, 2026Isley’s visions of grandeur crash all around her as reality of politics sinks in. Wilson exposes the frail state of affairs with solid writing. Takara & Prianto craft the sinking looks of hope with each emotional panel. With nothing left, Isely now embarks on a more dangerous journey: rebuilding from nothing left. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Theron Couch
Sep 30, 2026Poison Ivy #48 offers an unexpected emotional climax to Ivy’s journey thus far. As humans go, it turns out that Ivy isn’t so special after all. Upending Ivy’s arrogant view of herself makes for a very strong character story, and Poison Ivy #48 is the strongest Bad Seeds tie-in yet as a result. Read Full Review

The Batman Universe - Adam Koppel
Sep 30, 2026Poison Ivy #48 crosses the midpoint of "Bad Seeds" with a reckoning for the title character, and more threats looming on the horizon. G. Willow Wilson's in-depth exploration of Pamela Isley's emotional torment reveals that the character is indeed human after all, but not necessarily one to root for. The script crackles and the art sings. Read Full Review

Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez
Sep 30, 2026Poison Ivy #48 is supposed to be one of the key titles in the Bad Seeds crossover, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. G. Willow Wilson’s script brings Ivy to a predictable low point, but that’s about it. Only the pretty art saves this issue from being a total waste of time and money. Read Full Review

Are we meant to root (ha) for Ivy?
I honestly don't know. She is a train wreck of a character.
Is that meant to be the point?
She wants all humans to die but not Harley.
She became mayor only to kill all of Gotham.
All of these actions affirm she is absolutely a villain.
Yet this series has attempted to present her as heroic.
I thought the crossover would help this book. It seems I was wrong. -
