A great one-shot story for Kate Kane in the wake of last month's revelations. Outsiders #8 shines a spotlight on the toll these multiversal adventures have taken on Kate. But above all else, Outsiders #8 looks at what Batwoman is going through. Her anger at the Outsiders, her desperation to save Ginny, and her own internal issues are all put on display much like the previous issue, this is a character story first and foremost. It's that level of work that makes Outsiders worth reading, and hopefully it keeps this up as the series is now heading into its final batch of issues. Read Full Review

Outsiders is beginning the long road to a confrontation with a mysterious antagonist. In a way, this evil silhouette and subsequent McGuffins are excuses to give the Outsiders something to resist. Luckily, this issue remains a somewhat self-contained adventure between an unlikely duo of characters. It's fun, mysterious, and often times creative, and that is more than enough to earn a decent recommendation these days. It would be unfair to mourn what this book should be, and just settle for the monster-of-the-week sci-fi tale it offers. Which is to say, characters show up with unresolved baggage, and then they disappear just the same. Overall, if you don't mind quirky guest cameos and hanging plot threads, then you'd get a kick out of this week's Outsiders. Read Full Review

Very fun little one-off story. I know nothing about Jonah Hex and even less about Ginny Hex (I'm no narc) but this issue filled me in plenty and was a good detour for Batwoman to set up where the Outsiders go next. Very interested in how the gun affects Batwoman. This has been one of, if not the best book in DC for the past eight months.
