The “Raptor's Revenge” Arc made a glorious comeback withNightwing #32;delivering a balanced mix of wonderful artwork, believable character expressions, fantastic writing and a now engaging antagonist. The Raptor's Revenge storyline continues as the stakes rise, Raptor makes his move, and the Runaways try to find their motivation for entering the fray. While this wasn't an action heavy issue, it did work well to establish where everyone stands leading into the big showdown. Read Full Review

Artwork by Eaton, Mendonca, Faucher, and Egea seems excessive, having four artists on a single issue. But with the breakneck speed of the Rebirth titles,all-hands-on-deck seems necessary to meet the goals DC has set. If it takes that many hands to meet the publication schedule, Im in favor of it. This issue of Nightwing gives us a new look at Raptor and while the way we come across it comes off kind of silly, it's a decent backstory nonetheless and being accompanied by excellent art the entire way through didn't hurt it either.  We got some fun stuff in this issue with every character coming into play, I just really hope that the momentum doesn't stop going forward. There's plenty good here, it just never coalesces into a solid story. Rather, this plays off like scenes meant to drive the narrative forward rather than a cohesive issue in its own right. Seeley's script is mostly solid, if it touches on themes and relationships were used to seeing by now, but his Blackjack parallels don't quite land. The subplot with the Run-offs is remarkably strong, though, and the great visuals go a long way to elevate the quality of the issue. Overall I liked it well enough, I just wish I had loved it. This issue moves the story forward and provides context to the current and future conflicts relevant to Nightwing and the Run-Offs, and the Run-Offs themselves are becoming more and more relevant each issue. However, with a lot of characters getting juggled around at once it definitely feels like some faces aren't getting enough spotlight, and I can only groan every time I get a flashback to the titular hero's parent-killing origin story. Nightwing #32 is nothing more than a filler issue to get us to the next stage of the "Raptor's Revenge" arc. Tim Seeley does a great job continuing to develop what makes Nightwing such a great character. Unfortunately that is overshadowed by the lack of character development to make Raptor, Run-Offs and everyone else involved intriguing parts in this story arc. Read Full Review

As a grand finale, this book continues to underwhelm. It just doesnt feel as large or foreboding as it should be and I think that the blame continues to fall at the feet of Raptor not succeeding as a big enough, or compelling enough, threat for Nightwing. With two issues left, its double that much will improve before this story line wraps up and a new creative team takes over. Read Full Review

The conversation between Dick and Raptor is great stuff. But then things happen too suddenly with Shawn and her team, even as everything goes to crap for Dick. So a 9 till that moment of disconnect, and then a big dropoff.
