    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

This issue winds up taking on elements of some of the best horror stories of all time, like Stephen King's Misery, as it deals with topics like toxic fandom and misinterpretation of an author's work while also working as a straightforward chiller with great visuals. The twists and turns here should really be experienced for oneself. Read Full Review

Nightwing Annual #1 is an annual done right by using the extra time and page space to help contextualize all the moving parts in the series thus far. Read Full Review

Whatever the Zanni really is, he is old, powerful, and very much trying to kill superheroes for fun. Similarly, we may not know what kind of creature she is, but her deviant origin is a very interesting start. Overall, this is a great change of pace from the regular book with a lot more relevance to the bigger picture. Not to mention its darker tone, creative storytelling, and themed layout. Hopefully, the main title story picks up on this momentum and brings this arc home. Find out next issue of Nightwing, where maybe Nightwing can join us! Read Full Review

Nightwing Annual #1 2025 adds some much needed depth to the supporting characters who have been giving Nightwing so much grief these last few months. Beautifully written too! Read Full Review

The intellectual incoherence of the Nightwing 2025 Annual #1's argument and moral point bog down the generally solid craftsmanship heavily. 2 out of 5 Batarangs. Read Full Review

Annuals can be a mixed bag, but I think this one was well done. My only problem is I kind of feel like it's something that should've been included in the main run.

Fantastic art and I appreciate getting a story for Maggie Sawyer to do detective work but the whole back story for Olivia is just so corny and would have been much better served had Waters just picked one angle to go with rather than a combination or tropes that just don't click. This issue has some good writing but then get bogged down by so many goofy moments that it feels clunky like I've found the rest of Waters arc to be.

To much Maggie Sawyer. I'm still not sure what Nightwing's problem is these days, but I have a few suspicions. More than half of Nightwing's recurring characters have to go: Maggie, Melinda, Barbara, even the dog.
