Sep 30, 2015New Suicide Squad Annual #1 as an annual is just another issue, but it is a well executed final issue to this story arc. We lose a member which was shocking this early, but nonetheless meaningful to show that characters can change and will. Character development is just as important as the action. Read Full Review

Oct 01, 2015If you have been reading New Suicide Squad then go out and get this Annual immediately. It's that good and brings the current arc to an amazing close. It also sets up the new status quo going forward and redeems a character that I thought I'd never like. Great job by everyone involved. Read Full Review

The Batman Universe - Jim Remolde
Oct 02, 2015I found the Deadshot illness troubling but the Reverse Flash arc made up for that. We learned some things but are faced with new questions mainly how will Amanda fair in the field and what is Sages agenda. A very satisfactory read and I continue to look forward to this title. Multiversity Comics - James Johnston
Oct 01, 2015As a first-time reader, I expected "New Suicide Squad Annual" #1 to be a solid gateway for me to get into the series. Instead, it showed me that what the title was doing was more or less par for course. Nothing really stuck out to me, save for a couple metahuman rampages, and any attempts at being poignant felt incredibly forced and cheesy. "New Suicide Squad" #1 isn't a bad comic, but it is my definition for a mediocre one. Read Full Review

There's been a surprising level of competence in these recent New Suicide Squad issues. There are distinct personalities and hints of character development. The plot is still lackluster, but there are seeds sewn throughout.
