Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Jul 03, 2024With only two issues to go before Johns wraps his run here and his time at DC as a whole, there's a lot to resolve, and I kind of wish more of this run was about the classic JSA characters and his favorites like Stargirl, instead of so many of the villains. But he's weaving a pretty compelling story here, and one with a lot of unanswered questions. DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd
Jul 03, 2024Justice Society of America #10 brings some of the various plot elements together as Johns does appear to have something in mind for his finale with issue #12. There are lots of elements in this run that can and deserve to be explored further. No matter how much Johns leaves on the table when he departs, what he has included has been an example of how to write good comics by touching on history with substance and making it fun. The rift between the team concerning the Golden Age Legionnaire has such potential for character drama, but it is cut short by the cliffhanger ending. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Jul 03, 2024It's going to be more difficult for many people to follow. But it's still really fun. There is such an intensity of activity that goes into every single page in the issue that it just feels like it could've been a handle better, but it doesn't feel as awkward as the larger group scenes in so many of the mega crossovers that DC has put to the page in the past, including about Crisis theyve ever published. Johns knows what hes doing, but what hes doing is for a decidedly smaller subset of the comic book reading public than most mainstream comics. Read Full Review

Unlike some others I am enjoying this mostly. I think its a rather unique story to tell for the JSA of rehabilitation. Honestly rehabilitation stories are never easy to be done well (look at the entire X-men Krakoa era where the end product was making everyone villains instead). But here you see the pros and cons. Helen realizes that maybe timing is important and you cant force people do be good when they dont want to be. They have to come around on their own. Additionally not everyone is going to have the same feelings. Some will want revenge against someone who hurt others, some will think they should just be jailed or killed for their crimes. It is not an easy read, as some others have pointed out the things they are doing is a hard more

This book is REALLY suffering from the delays. If you're debating on reading this series, pick it up in the trade and I guarantee it's better fully collected.

Old time JSA readers have largely given up on this issue. Earth-destroyer Mordru joining the JSA? And now it is OK to KILL Hawkman? Please. What an absurd storyline. Geoff Johns really needs to hand this off to someone else already.
