I couldnt even begin to tell you where somebody like this new version of the Creeper would begin to fit in with the rest of Forever Evil, and its really nice that they didnt even try to make it happen, and instead gave the readers of the book that the Creepers actually in the answers theyve been wanting about the character. Needless to say, I'll be picking up back issues of Katana now, just like Trinity War event did for Constantine with me. I'm interested in this title now, when I had originally written it off as a terrible idea to diversify for diversity's sake. Job well done, Villains Month. Even though I think this should have just been one artist and one writer, it was quite a lofty tale indeed. Well worth the extra dollar for the awesome cover. After reading through this muddled mess of an issue, we weren't surprised to see Ann Nocenti's name attached, although in her partial defence, the character has never been terribly compelling. Read Full Review

For a one-shot issue, it's also not terribly streamlined or accessible. The script builds heavily on Creeper's debut in Katana and Ryder's death in Phantom Stranger. Marketing may be the only reason why Creeper didn't take over one of those two series instead of Justice League Dark. By the end, readers may not even understand what exactly Creeper is in the context of the New 52, much less why they should care about him or where they're supposed to go to continue his story. This issue is a mess.  Following the Trinity War event you would think that DC would want to keep what momentum Justice League Dark had gained.  Instead we get the origin story of a Villain no one cares about.  It truly is the answer to a question no one is asking. Read Full Review

This is perhaps the worst "big two" comic book I have ever read. A terrible idea coupled with rushed nonsensical visuals that never come together into a readable story. The fact that a book like this can make it past any kind of editorial process or quality control at DC Comics is a shock. Read Full Review

This story is definitely convoluted, but if you work through that its actually pretty cool. I like the new Creeper being a demon whose desire is simply to create chaos. Yes, I always liked the old Creeper too (I'm a Ditko nut) but its fine to me for a new Creeper to appear.
