DC Comics News - Derek McNeil

Aug 19, 2020Overall, Injustice: Year Zero Chapter Four and the first three chapters are a solid start to the series. We're introduced to the main characters and the threat is set up in such a way that it feels like it'll be an epic fight down the road. The comic also isn't afraid of making some commentary about contemporary society and the state of politics. We're in need of more stories that take a hard line that Nazis and fascism is bad and power corrupts. Injustice: Year Zero Chapter Four isn't afraid to deliver exactly that. Read Full Review

This was fine. There were some cool moments, but ultimately it's not very engaging and it's possibly too quick. Something to note, I find Joker's apprehension towards the Nazis weird, at least how it's presented here. I get why he'd dislike fascism, authoritarianism and totalitarianism, since those adhere to a strict order and require a subservience to a greater power, which I think someone as chaotic and, ahem, "free-spirited" as the Joker may find intolerable. But I don't see him being too concerned with his national identity or being a bigot. But hey, maybe it was all a joke.
