This Atom team-up left me interested in seeing Vendittis Hawkman interact with other Silver Age heroes like Red Tornado and of course the inevitable reunion with Hawkgirl. Until then Venditti and Hitch will just have to be content delivering the best Hawkman weve seen in a decade. Read Full Review

The first five issues were fun, but this issue really took off. It had its moments of humor, desperation, panic, revelation and another farewell. After you finish reading, you are left with one thought; Venditti and Hitch have made comics truly fun again. This comic is a must for any fan of the superhero genre of comics. Read Full Review

Hawkman #6 brings another chapter to a close for Carter Hall. This objective was daring, it was rewarding, and it was full of sincerity towards the meaning of having a friend you can count on. I was never prepared to actually get the origin in this issue, and that was fine since there was so much else to enjoy in the perfect climatic setting. Read Full Review

Hawkman has been a book that I'm really glad I took the chance on it checking out. While it is playing a bit more decompressed than I would have cared for, it's also been kept small and exploratory for Barry to deal with. I like the discoveries in each issue, the way it helps to further connect things together, and the occasional guest start in how they alter things. The Ray Palmer aspect of this story is definitely adding some real fun to it as well. Smooth and straightforward with great designs. I'm looking forward to what comes next. Read Full Review

Venditti and Hitch deliver another great issue and leave the reader wanting more. Its a fun, fast-paced issue that gives the reader a reunion of one of the greatest friendships in comics. The arc is too short in my opinion, but I also understand the point is to get to the Deathbringers and dwelling too long in the Microverse could postpone that too long. Read Full Review

This is a really fun read, and with the next issue finally promising us some answers this is an easy issue to recommend. If you havent picked this series up yet then youve still got a chance to start from the beginning. Hawkman is back in a big way and he has never soared higher. Pick this one up, folks. Its a blast from beginning to end. Read Full Review

This issue is gorgeous and, I hate to say this since it's almost a blanket statement at this point, worth buying just for the art alone. The plot helps move the art along and the ending will certainly excite someone. Read Full Review

While I still love Hawkman and hope for the best in this series going forward, we really didn't do much with this issue or the first six issues in general except for follow a really basic formula of going to one place, getting something and then moving to another place and while this was fine initially, I'm pretty bored of it now.  The art in this issue is fun and works well for the story, but I need something new from this book to get me excited again. It's been a while since I reviewed a Hawkman comic. It's unfortunate because Hawkman is one of the best traditional mainstream Superhero comics I've reviewed in recent years. Lack of reviews has less to do with the quality of a title but based on what I have at the top of my pile at any given time. I forget how we got into this situation but Hawkman and The Atom have shrunk down into the Microverse in an attempt to obtain a weapon/artifact to help Carter Hall (Hawkman) on his quest to restore his lost memories as well as stop the Deathbringer's on their path of destruction. The strength of the issue is the bond between Hawkman and The Atom. Their relationship feels genuine. They give each other crap but also have mutual respect and more

One of the better issues, but mostly because of its brisk pace.

Hawkman is awesome. The whole mystery, clue thing is intriguing and fits the narrative perfectly.

Yet another solid issue from DC which is hitting it's stride with a kind of neo-Bronze Age vibe, that is, forty-somethings giving us classic stories but with the nuances of modern techniques. I came because of the Atom and I'm staying.

While I feel like it has lost its Indiana Jones vibe, I still believe the pace is great! Even if you don't know the friendship between Ray and Carter, you can feel how natural and right this is. Although the ship part felt a bit force at the beginning. Would have been nice to see Carter at least go up against a deathbringer

THE GOOD: -Amazing art. I hope Bryan Hitch never leaves the series. -I liked the way Hawkman and Atom talked to each other. It shows that Robert Venditti really understands each character, and their relationship. -There was some really cool action scenes here. I enjoyed them a lot. -I liked the end. It was cool and really exciting for later issues. THE BAD: -I do wish plot-wise, more could've happened. It was an interesting escape, but there wasn't really anything about the plot that I loved. -I also didn't find this issue super-memorable. There were a lot of things I liked, but I feel like previous issues have left me with a bit more in my head afterward.
