Sorry, Harley’s not here right now, but this is her trusted sidekick Kevin, and I’m happy to be keeping watch over the streets of Gotham. The city’s gone a little crazy with the Magistrate’s forces cracking down. I just hope that Harley’s mission to Alley Town with Catwoman and the Gardener is successful in finding the missing piece of Poison Ivy that could be the very key to saving Gotham. In the meantime, I’ll help put fires out around Gotham…literally…and I might get some unexpected help in the process! Fear State part two continues here!

Oct 27, 2021The "Fear State" story in Batman may be dull, directionless hot mess of nothing, but the same story (or rather, setting) in Harley Quinn #8 is a revelation of heart, action, and genuine character development that only further cements Stephanie Phillips as one of the best to write Harley ever. Oct 26, 2021It's a comic that has some surprisingly funny moments, but it can also be terrifying and heartbreaking at times, and it does a great job of getting you invested in both the characters we know very well and the ones we're just getting to know. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - William Tucker
Oct 26, 2021Harley Quinn #8 is a lovely issue. Harleys first hug with Ivy is a reward, as if part of what she has been looking for has been achieved. The comic is so exceptionally emotional, relying on its heart for strength. Phillips may be one of the best dialogue writers in the business, whether it be philosophical narrations or hysterical quips. The reader can hear Harleys voice in their head when they read her lines. And with the brilliant and unique art, this comic is so characterful. Read Full Review

I never expected that a Harley Quinn series would be one of my favourite series, but Phillips has managed to hook me with her interpretation of the character. I look forward to seeing what she has planned for Harley in post-Fear State Gotham. Read Full Review

There is also an attention to detail that makes even the background scenery captivating. Overall, this is a well done issue that perfectly matches the tone of the story. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez
Oct 26, 2021Harley Quinn #8 surprisingly manages to tell a story worth telling by focusing on the one character that matters above everyone else in this series - Kevin. The Kevin bits are great, everything else barely qualifies as Fear State tie-in fluff. Read Full Review
