This just in, ya gal's been cursed! And now she's gotta use magic and travel the Multiverse and deal with...cartoon fish and higher beings? What in the Earth-6 is going on?! Not to mention, I still got my court-mandated community service, and Two-Face and his goons just won't leave ya girl alone. Someone's gotta teach 'em a lesson--and I'm not just sayin' that cuz I'm a professor! Also featuring another very special in-continuity dream of Harley Quinn as told by the two individuals who know me bestest of all...my hyenas, Bud and Lou!

Final ThoughtsI had a blast reading Harley Quinn #29 and the series has moved up to be in my top 5 current favorite series. This issue has just the right mix of humor and drama and Zatanna and Harley are so much fun together! I hope Tini Howard has her stay around for a while. As Zatanna would say: dednemmocer ylhgiH! It's a weird story, maybe too weird, but Sweeney Boo's art somehow perfectly sells it. Read Full Review

This comic is not the worst thing I've ever read for Harley. However, it's really a let-down for me because of the continuous problems DC editorial has had with how they depict and market the character. I saw someone the other day saying that it's been too many years of Harley being used this way for it to change. To that I say that time doesn't necessarily matter. DC can write Harley with depth, consistency, and originality again any time they want to. They just have to choose to do so.Score: 4.5/10 Read Full Review

The second book in the Tini Howard run is better than the first, but not by much. Come for Sweeney Boo's art; stay for Sweeney Boo's art. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez

Harley Quinn #29 is a mess. Characters (Zatanna, Batman) written out of character, plot developments that come out of nowhere and make no sense, an increasing "bimbo glorification" vibe that feels like a bad transplant from Marvel, and a higher cover price justified with a backup story that's pure nonsense. This was a fairly entertaining issue that advances the main storyline a bit, but the backup was, for whatever reason, just an absolute chore for me to read. The backup's art was the best thing it had going for it, but the story, perhaps, was just a little too crazy for me. Moving back to the main story, Zatanna was fun to have for a little bit. After the previous issue felt a little rushed by trying to introduce and/or establish a bunch of different things at once, this did feel a little more focused. While I would have given this a 7.5, the backup story just drags this down a bit for me.

Absolute nonsensical "writing"! Just try reading one of the crammed-with-dialog pages out loud. As Harrison Ford once said about George Lucas's script, "You can type this sh*t, but you sure can't say it!" The 1.5 is for the art. I don't think it suits Harley or the comic, but it's better than a blank page, I guess. OMG, imagine pages and pages of Howard's dialog with nothing to distract you from reading it. That's not a dream, it's a nightmare! $4.99 for this!?! I miss Paul Dini & Bruce Timm's Harley Quinn!
