But seriously, Cowan & Sienkiewicz are a match made in heaven, as Sienkiewicz is able to set the moody tone with inks and Cowan has drawn some of the most gorgeous female jowl and ocular work that I have ever seen in comic history, putting to page the cleanest depictions of Afro-centrism that I have seen in comics in contrast to the rawest depictions that I have seen from the likes of Risso or Corben. I keep having to pinch myself that the legend Denys Cowan is providing the art on this book. And on one of Milestone's original characters. His unique style is pulsing with the lifeblood of what makes Dakota such a special universe. But on top of that, his action in this book, specifically when Hardware is in the suit, is some of the best art you could ask for. The linework is immaculate. Read Full Review

The best thing about Curtis is the fact that he, and allies like Tiffany, have seen this coming. They know that Alva has a pubic side and a private side. Hardware will need to fight his war with Alva on two fronts, and the fact that Alva has both privilege and public perception on his side should not be lost on the reader. Brandon Thomas, Denys Cowan, Bill Sienkiewicz, Chris Sotomayor and Rob Leigh show some real promise with this story! This series has been no-holds-barred since the first page of the first issue, but that means it's also sacrificed some character beats that Static and Icon's series have done a little better. But it's a strong read with a lot of room to grow. Read Full Review

Regardless of the story or plot, it's hard to get past Cowan and Sienkiewicz on the same team. It just so happens they work seamlessly with Thomas' scripts so far. Read Full Review

An art team like that would make a lousy comic worth reading, and this is a really excellent comic. In particular, I really enjoy Thomas's take on Alva, putting BLM statements in his mouth while his hands are scheming. Milestone Returns has been everything I'd hoped it would be so far
