Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns #34 was a well executed second chapter to the "Twilight of the Guardians" story arc. Robert Venditti was able to get across what the Controllers plot is and why that would mean even greater trouble for the DC Universe if they are successful. The darkness of the Controllers plot was nicely balanced out by how John Stewart, Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner wasted no time in tracking the villains down. What happens next as both sides near a collision course should be a lot of fun. Read Full Review

Sandoval's pencils make up for the lag in the issue's second half. It's hard to go wrong with several pages of Zod punching Green Lanterns when it looks this good. Sandoval captures the brutality of action while retaining the iconography that sets the violence of superhero comics apart. His art captures the wild creativity of the Green Lantern constructs and the sleek lines of kryptonian armor in intricate detail that never looks too busy. That's a feat in a book set in the Green Lantern corner of DC Comics. Read Full Review

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #34 is broken into basically two parts. Half the comic features the Controllers and the captive Guardians. The other half focuses on the primary Green Lanterns and their search for clues to where the Controllers have taken the Guardians and for what purpose. There's quite a bit of threatening, and lots of shots of the Lanterns flying around, but for now the villains' actions continue unabated. Worth a look. Read Full Review

n this story, the GLs behave less like beat cops and more like seasoned investigators. Through guile, subterfuge and plain old force of will, they piece together clues and follow leads that will hopefully reveal the Controllers plan. Read Full Review
