Green Arrow keeps delivering and #13 is a great chapter in one of the strongest comics to come from DCs Rebirth. Overall, the GREEN ARROW run has been one of my favorites in the DC Rebirth line. Percy is a consistently great writer and all of the artists involved have done well to maintain the tone of each individual story. I have loved the sub-genres within the superhero comicas well (there have been heist, rom-com, mystery, and spy thriller issues). As long as we readers are kept on ourtoes with different ways to tell Oliver Queen's story, we will continue to enjoy GREEN ARROW. I look forward to finding out how Green Arrowwill clear his name of all crimes. I only wonder how Oliver Queen will be resurrected in the issues to come. Read Full Review

I really liked checking in on Green Arrow this issue. I've read a handful of the Rebirth issues and have always felt they were pretty steady. This creative team will need to work on keeping their focus nailed down to the core elements of this arc. I feel like they have had a tendency too get too cute for their own good at some junctures. This issue is a great example of managing a lot of talking heads as well as a lot of exposition and still keeping the issue as a pretty well wound-up knot. Please keep it up. Read Full Review

This is a solid book. Art was fantastic and I was bummed when the issue ended as I wanted it to continue. I am glad I only have to wait two weeks! Percy has a great feel for these characters and he balances the light hearted parts with the seriousness of what Ollie is facing perfectly.

This book is gangsta. It's got politicians going looney with hookers and cocaine Wolf Of Wall Street style. And what's funny is that the art style by Otto Schmidt looks cartoony like he used to work for Disney. Imagine Schmidt drawing a comic where Mickey is doing lines off Minnie's butt with Goofy drunk in the background going Ah-yuck to Donald and Daisy doing despicable things. Anyways, what was I saying? Oh yeah, I dig how Ollie isn't like Bruce Wayne. When you read Batman you know the dude's getting out of there alive and with style. I mean he's Batman but Ollie Queen is a bonafide phuck-up, when he gets into a bad situation you genuinely think he might be screwed for good. But it's a good thing he has a badass girlfriend who bails him out on a motorcycle and fishnets and she genuinely likes Oliie not like Batman's girlfriends that wanna kill him after sex. Talia that sperm-jacking garden tool!!! You know Canary's gonna bail Ollie out because that's kinda all Green Arrow's got right now, a devoted girlfriend he has complicated history with. And I never thought in a million years a Seahawks cheerleader would be he one that makes Seattle turn on Ollie. And why did Russell Wilson get benched for Cy?? more

This series seems to love to torture Ollie. The more his personal life goes well, the more his public image and personality seem to suffer from it. This issue displays the interesting take on how upbeat this comic is drawn, but how dark the subject matter and actions can be. I am enjoying this arc and hope to see it lead somewhere good and happy.

[ART: 9.5 | STORY: 8.2 | WRITING: 7.7 | TOTAL: 8.5 (~8.5)] This book continues to impress as the Emerald Outlaw story powers on. I really enjoy Otto Schmidt's art and this issue was no exception. The story is really heating up and I love the direction of it. There are some nice (albeit fairly predictable) reveals that keep this series moving along at a good pace. Some of the dialogue can be a little clunky, and sometimes it gets a little too political and predictable, but this is a fine comic. Great stuff.

Comic Book Review (6/10) “Okay” Green Arrow #13 “Emerald Outlaw Part 2” Writer: Benjamin Percy Penciller: Otto Schmidt Plot: Victoria Much and other critics of the Green Arrow have been shot with arrows. Now the authorities are after Ollie as suspect number one. Will Ollie be able to clear his name and find who the real culprit is before the killer strikes again? Ollie has got to be the dumbest super hero in the DC universe. He constantly makes dumb choices that put him in the crosshairs of other people’s guns and it doesn’t seem like having Black Canary and Diggle with him has made him a better hero. Either it is his social justice warrior antics or his constant screaming of the difference between right and wrong that g ets him in constant trouble. What does Ollie do when the police have an arrow stuck on somebody’s body at a crime scene? Ollie yells “let me have that arrow and I will compare it with mine to show you that it wasn’t me!” Comparing arrows and trying to investigate a weapon at a murder site is fine and should be done, but not when there are like 20 cops investigating the area in broad daylight who obviously are blaming him for the recent attacks. Ollie may be a good shot, but he is not a very good investigator and it’s like reading an amateur hero just learning how to do his job. Once again the only saving grace in this book is Schmidt’s incredible art, but even his art does not make this a must buy for comic book fans or Green Arrow fans (if they’re still around reading this book.) It’s strange how Percy can write a great Teen Titans book, but screw up the Green Arrow book. more

This is the one that finally made me drop this book. I can't stand the reinvention of Black Canary as the domestically abusive man hating millennial. I almost quit in issue 9 when after Oliver lost all of his money, was almost murdered by his sister, lost his family home, Black Canary yells at Oliver to stop feeling sorry for himself. I also got tired of BC constantly calling Oliver dumb multiple times in every issue. Her meanness has sapped the joy out of this series. In this issue BC asked Oliver what he was feeling and then when he answered she stated that "she would forgive him for mansplaining". She would forgive him for answering her after she asked a question. How loving. I'm sure this appeals to some people. I'm not judgin g. I just enjoyed previous iterations of these characters where they were loving and supportive of each other. more
