Green Arrow #48

I like how much of a stand-alone issue this is. While there is obviously more to the story, a person can easily read this by itself and enjoy it. If you are looking to jump in on Green Arrow, this a great place to start. It's well written with great art. The winter setting really does set a mood. Additionally, I think there a couple of really interesting thematic ideas and some good character development for Oliver. This is a great issue. Read Full Review

So much of the story is silly (made even sillier without the context of October's Green Arrow Annual #1), but it almost works due to Percy's poetic narrative style and his sheer ambition and determination. Read Full Review

While I have to eat my words in saying before it came out that this issue would be complete nonsense, it only mildly gets out of that category in my mind because while the issue started out strong with some really interesting inner turmoil about what Oliver's dealing with, the story then became really convenient in what took place and left me questioning our hero's motives by the end.  The art in this issue was fantastic though and since I haven't been enjoying this run of Green Arrow, I'll take whatever win I can get from it because I hate not liking this hero.   Read Full Review

I actually really enjoyed this, despite the slight silliness of it. The drug addict parallel is pretty transparent here, so I think an appearance by Roy could be incredibly poignant once GA inevitably hits rock bottom.
