  Nerds On The Rocks - Frank Fuentes

  Events in Earth 2 may have slowed down considerably after the fast-paced destruction of Taylor's opening arc but there is still a lot of reason to continue reading this title. For one, Dark Seid has not given up his pursuit of the Earth and his new plan would have significant repercussions for the new wonders if he's successful. Taylor is clearly headed into a big story arc that sets a new Justice Society against Superman. That new team will likely include Aquawoman, Green Lantern, Batman, Hawk Girl, Red Arrow, Red Tornado, Doctor Fate and a new Superman. Keep reading this book because Taylor is about to blow us away.   Another great installment for Earth 2 that seems to have finally found that perfect balance of character and movement, issue #22 is a great reminder that the core of this title is the genuine heroism (and yes, optimism) of its protagonists. Month in and month out, this book has burrowed just a little bit deeper into my heart and brain, such that I no longer worry about what it should be or was meant to do. I luxuriate in all that it is.   Weird Science - Eric Shea

  While the story didn't move worlds or change lives, it did deliver in letting these characters grow.  In a book this size, getting all the insight behind characters dreams, fears, and motivations can be a very difficult thing, especially in the short chaptered world of comics.  But Taylor takes his time, and makes you care about each, and just makes this world a wonderful, and interesting place to read about.  On top of all that fluffing, I'm happy as hell that we get to see my favorite hero of this world Green Lantern back, even if it was only a brief inclusion.  What I'm trying to say is, if you want a book that won't let you down you need to be reading Earth 2.  Before I end this I have one more fluff to hand out.  Nicola Scott is a goddess of art.  Okay that is all, pick up the book.   Geeked Out Nation - Jess Camacho

  Earth 2 is really one of the best superhero comics on stands now. It's extremely character driven but with enough "classic" superhero fighting to keep even the most basic superhero fan engaged. The ending has me extremely excited for what comes next because one of my own theories looks to be coming to fruition. Earth 2 is an exciting place to be right now as a reader. It's one of the few series that you would be wise to fully catch-up on. Read Full Review

  Speaking of that scene, Nicola Scott illustrates it gorgeously. Her characters are full of life and rich with expression and detail. Her layouts are straightforward and easy to follow with nothing but rectangular panels and the occasional splash page for emphasis.   Infinite Comix - Dan Gehen

  In between the aforementioned sequences is a moment in which Superman discovers that this group of rebellious wonders is lead by a Batman. Superman's reaction is both surprising and disappointing, as he immediately refers to the cape and cowled figure as their "greatest threat" without once questioning how he is still alive, or if it is even the same Batman he was once friends with. In an issue that otherwise hit all the right notes, it stands out as the one missed opportunity. Read Full Review

  The greatest parts of reading Earth 2 is seeing how characters get reimagined. The Alan Scott Green Lantern appears to be Earth 2s version of swamp thing, Batman is the guilt stricken father of Bruce Wayne, the Sandman and Red Arrow are members of the World Army instead of sidekicks of previous heroes. With the cross over into the Worlds Finest andBatman Superman, and Supermans plan to move the Earth, are we approaching a merging of the universes? Read Full Review

  WhileEarth 2 #22 feels a little dull with an opening that is much more dramatic than the rest of the story, this issue is still well worth reading and gives followers of the series a nice break from the war. However, both the beginning and the ending of this issue does set up for what will surely be a groundbreaking 23rd issue for next month.   Hero-worship of Batman and some character inconsistencies aside, I like the direction this book is going. Were seeing the beginnings of hope returning to the title, though the forces of Darkseid STILL havent run up against anything even resembling a challenger or a foe capable of stopping them, so Im actually hoping for a fairly pitched, lengthy last stand so the victory at least feels earned. This issue is a nice departure from the dour grimness of issues past, and if the series continues in this direction, I truly think it can right itself. Read Full Review
