There are a lot of cool scenes, but not a ton of forward motion in the story as this issue plays out like a redux of the first issue, with different maimings and eviscerations. There's a particularly disturbing scene that could have been more disturbing, but V. Ken Marion went a more tasteful route and the book is better for it. I did enjoy the issue, and I think if you enjoyed the first issue then you should follow suit with this. The fact that it was so similar to the first issue, at least in pacing and theme, however, did affect my appreciation for this comic. Read Full Review

Bloodlines isn't a comic that will win awards or break molds, but damn is it entertaining and a great example as to why we read comics. Bloodlines is a comic I would recommend to new readers as they will experience all the necessary tropes and tragedies that come along with becoming a superhero for maybe the first time. It's not a terrible way to have this story be told and the art will surely keep you interested as Bloodlines #2 brutally unfolds its tale. Read Full Review

In the debut issue, Krul really gave us a sense of the world his characters inhabited, and it's disappointing that this issue is incremental in its progression. However, one gets the feeling that everything at the moment is a slow build waiting to explode. Read Full Review

Despite falling slightly short of the first issue, it remains clear that Bloodlines is a mini-series to keep an eye on. The show-stealing artwork of V. Ken Marion also provides an added boost. Read Full Review
