The challenge with any cosmic-level conflict lies in making the power FEEL powerful as it all concludes. By the time the series hits its twelfth issue, theres already so much thats going on. Priest and Barrows do their best to wrap everything up. Theres some sense of finality about it, and there IS a real sense of heroism radiating off the page, but Priest has tried to build way too much in the course of the first 11 issues. It looks good, and it makes sense, but it isnt entirely satisfying. Read Full Review

Black Adam #12, like the series as a whole, was a wasted opportunity. The ending of this story left me scratching my head, as I was left unsure as to exactly what had transpired. Overall, the series really disappointed me, as DC missed an incredible opportunity to introduce Black Adam to the masses. Read Full Review

Absolutely fascinating. Even with a couple story strands left to the winds, the main pathos Black Adam has been tackling across these twelve issues is brought to an impasse: the Red Sea is pulled apart by mortality's revelation as Theo Adam embarks on a new dawn. He is no longer a slave to a legacy of ebony lightning that has chained him to the Sinai. He's emerged from a staring match with the abyss, scathed, and yet liberated. Black Adam will return, but Theo Adam's long march is just beginning.

this entire series was pretty underwhelming. The only thing worth noting is the art to be honest. Art looks great. I had no idea whats going on.

I really wasn't a big fan of this miniseries, and this finale didn't help. The plot is convoluted and the message is muddy as hell. I feel like Priest needs to un-complicate his writing a bit. Sometimes his style works wonders and the layers of story and character really mesh well together, but in other instances, it's just a sort of blob. This is one of those instances.
