Batman/Static Beyond #1 is a promising start to a new ongoing series. Evan Narcisses writing gives both characters room to shine, and Nikolas Draper-Iveys artwork captures a futuristic world thats not so different from today at its core. If you are a fan of either Batman Beyond or Static, whether it be from the '90s and 2000s cartoons or from their respective appearances in other comics, I recommend giving Batman/Static Beyond #1 a shot. Unless you're a die-hard completionist or just adore these characters, this isn't the comic to top your pull list this month. Batman/Static: Beyond #1 sounds revolutionary, but the execution is muddled enough that your time and money might be better spent elsewhere, barring a shocking twist in future issues. Reader beware: This crossover crossover invests in chaos more than coherence, so prepare for a bumpy ride. Read Full Review
