It'll be interesting to see if Brisson uses the arrival of The Joker as an avenue for a quick Batman cameo/team-up or show how competent Batman Inc. is in tackling his greatest rogue without his help. Read Full Review

The setup in this issue is wildly exciting and leaves a lot of questions coming up for the next issue. As long as Brisson and Timms lead the story in a way that makes it very distinct and different from the previous arc, this story should be a success that will leave a lot of fans ecstatic. I have always wanted Batman Inc. to face a challenge from an opposing collective. Nevertheless, I never wanted it to have anything to do with the Joker. Despite my apprehension, there is endless potential for character development in facing Batman's most intimate foe. Which some may hope includes taking the wind out of Ghost-Maker's sails. Ed Brisson sets up a compelling jeopardy for the team to overcome analyzing identity and the bigger picture. Despite Joker Inc. populating its roster with nobodies, the home team finally receives the narrative attention they deserve. If executed properly, Joker may actually set Batman Incorporated in a positive direction. Read Full Review

With so many moving parts, this team needs a strong central focus point, but Ghost-Maker comes across as arrogant, ill-informed, and needlessly abusive to his colleagues, combining with a 'too much, too fast' problem in plotting for a confusing whole. Read Full Review

I think I have the same problem with this book every time it comes out, but I'll reiterate here. There are way too many characters and the constant jumping around really makes it hard to stay engaged with the material, which isn't bad at all. If only it wasn't so sliced up. I was a bit skeptical of Joker Incorporated when I first saw it in solicitations, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Even here, I'm not 100% sure how I feel about it, but I do think Joker's reasoning for creating it makes complete sense. The final page of this issue gives me more hope that Joker Incorporated will be a good storyline, so hopefully things pick up in Issue 9. Speaking about this book as a whole, Psycamorean points out a great point in his review that I agree with, in that this title just has so many characters in it. As much as I like Gray Wolf, there's a part of me that hopes he leaves the team like he talked about in this issue so that things can be spread out a little more. An example of this is that, after his father's dea th in the last issue, Jiro is in this issue for like a page or two and then forgotten about for the rest of the book. While it's still been an enjoyable read, I really hope this run can become a little more focused in the future. Quality over quantity reigns true here, in my opinion. more
