Batman 89 Echoes #4 is a significant improvement from the previous 3 issues in this series as the action is intensifying and the main characters have all donned their respective costumes. We even see the return of Michelle Pfeiffers Catwoman, which makes one wonder if she will once again interact with Batman and whether it will be as friend or foe if she does. What are Scarecrow and Harleys plans for Gotham now that theyre outside the asylum? And will Riddler step into his own costume and supervillain identity? At this point he seems more of a reluctant ally rather than a true villain. All in all, this is a very exciting issue. What might Batmans first confrontation with Scarecrow be like, and is he prepared to protect himself against Scarecrows fear toxin? Read Full Review

This book is starting to grow on me. A lot of it is thanks to the amazing artwork by Quinones and Ito, but the story has its fun moments. The slow pace of the earlier issues comes back to haunt this one, but hopefully, from here onward, the pace will manage to even out. Read Full Review

While the series is highly unusual in its pacing and seems to really be holding back showing Batman on-screen, it is still a fun treat to read. Quinones' pages look amazing and Hamm does craft a compelling narrative now that the pieces are in place. Batman 89 Echoes sets free both of its villains in an issue which sets up a potentially deadly final battle on the streets of Gotham. Joe Quinones artwork continues to breathe new life in to the world of Hamm's story. Read Full Review
