I don't know what went on with the schedule herethis issue is around three months late, and the series has just startedbut it probably has something to do with the brilliant art by Joe Quinones. A welcome return for Batman '89 Echoes after a prolonged gap between the first two issues. Taking significant steps with both Dr. Crane and Harlan Quinzel it's fascinating to see these two legendary villains given the Sam Hamm treatment. Read Full Review

Batman '89: Echoes #2 is a fun story that adds to the plot through building up the characters and has enjoyable references to previous Batman media and popular actors of the 1980's and 90's. That being said, what may be disappointing is that there are no real costumed heroes to speak of in this issue, and cover is not really representative of the story in this current issue. Batman '89: Echoes #2 is a gorgeous issue weighed down by a massively convoluted plot that kills the tension and makes for a bewildering read, especially after months of waiting. The references to the first two actors who donned the Caped Crusader's outfit are fun though. Read Full Review

It has its own style and vibe and is doing something fresh. Good art, grounded writing. It's taking its time with its setup, but I feel as though it works.

I must be reading a different book than the other reviewers. I'm not sure how you can have a Batman book without Batman. Two issues in a row, a third of the story completed and Batman has not showed up. Instead, we get a Harley with no Joker, and Bruce playing Firefly. This issue has turned bad real fast.
