Geof Darrow takes aim at corporate greed, environmental destruction, artificial intelligence, and cultural apathy while filling every inch of the page with visual chaos. The extended vending machine battle can get repetitive, but Darrow's astonishing detail keeps your eyes wandering somewhere new. Plot and Art
Shaolin Cowboy saves the dog Pedro from an attack by a soda vending machine—part of ECOL A.I., a corporation that controls society through consumerism. Shaolin represents the chaos they cannot control.
During this massive battle, Shaolin recalls the teachings of his Shaolin monk mentor alongside the contradictory words of his father. Through this, he not only resurrects the dog Pedro but also discovers pressure points and the energy center known as the "Tien"—the very spot housing the A.I.-driven chip controlled from space.
Shaolin Cowboy manages to defeat the first wave of cola vending machines, but used-underwear vending machines launch a toxic attack.
