    All-Comic - Joey Caswell

    Nov 20, 2013

Even aside from all of the action and excellent writing, the story itself is developed with precise pacing that made the entire issue both exciting and satisfying. The creative team is back on track like never before, reminding us why Dawn of the Jedi has been one of Dark Horses most popular Star Wars titles. While this is the third arc in the series, the writers seem to make an effort to allow Force War to be accessible to new readers without simply rehashing earlier events. However, if you have been keeping up with this title, you definitely dont want to miss out on Force War; after many months of waiting, excitement for this series has been re-ignited like never before. Comic Book Resources - Jim Johnson

Shortcomings aside, Ostrander and Duursema remain the strongest and most consistent team to ever touch the franchise in comics, and "Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi " Force War" #1 is a stellar example of that. The force is indeed strong with this one. Read Full Review

Of all of Dark Horse's Star Wars titles, Dawn of the Jedi is the least approachable. But for the longtime fan, a welcome addition. Read Full Review

    ComicList - Brandon Borzelli

    Nov 23, 2013

Star Wars is at its best when there are great characters and plenty of action. This book delivers all of one and some of the other. If this arc heads in the direction I think its heading then it seems the character focus will come back fairly soon. This is a good start to what looks to be a pivotal, if not the climatic, mini-series. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - Jean-Luc Botbyl

    Nov 26, 2013

There's some good action action, but without getting the rest right it feels like a bad action movie, except this isn't at all exciting. It could at least be entertaining, but the exposition just makes this seem like a boring comic. Hopefully now that it's out of the way, the book will be able to improve in future issues.
