It's a bold move to draw on Mary Shelley's original work like this does, but I think the creators do an admirable job proving they have more to say about Frankenstein's monster. By the end of the issue, Frankenstein has found a little bit of purpose. It also has a nice last page that is open ended. The story is a bit slight as a whole and doesn't have as much depth as one would like. The art by Stenbeck is very good though. Overall, this is a decent enough entry into the Hellboy universe.
