Outright Geekery - Scott Macdonald
Jan 17, 2017This is a comic book worth picking up whether you are young or old, male or female, interested in roller derby or never even heard of it. This book is transcendent in a way that few are. Excellent writing and art is like that, and this book is an example of both. I am primarily a reader of the comics of the superhero persuasion, but this book is the one I look forward to the most each month. Slam! has my highest recommendation. Read Full Review

Newsarama - C.K. Stewart
Jan 23, 2017Pamela Ribon is an excellent writer, but it's the entire artistic team that makes Slam! such a vibrant and readable book. Slam #3 is the strongest issue so far, hitting highs in execution despite the lows Jennifer and Maisie hit at the issue's conclusion. Ribon captures the uniqueness of derby-forged friendships in particular, but her emotional writing will ring true to anyone who's had to struggle with the changing nature of old friendships as they grow older. Slam! is an engaging and relatable slice-of-life book that will delight readers of all ages or with any level of derby knowledge. Read Full Review
