Whether or not you're a fan of horror, there's no denying that you'll get hooked on the story and it won't let you go. This is a prime example of how the perfect mix of writing, art, and lettering can be done well to give you a fantastic story that is quite unmatched by anyone else. There are elements here that feel reminiscent of Scream,and I Know What you Did Last Summer, but a story is the sum of its parts, and there is a lot to take in and enjoy. Quickly hearkening to the likes of Halloween and Friday the 13th, Revel's artwork not only doesn't shy away from the gruesome nature of such killer-fueled excursions, but most importantly captures the look of the town and place where these things happen. Read Full Review

We love this series and would love to see it adapted into a film in the future. It has all the hallmarks of being a great horror movie and would make the perfect addition to the slasher genre. It has something for both horror fans and non-horror fans alike. Even with all of that, Harrower #1 delivers a killer ending that'll leave fans of the genre, and readers as a whole, wanting to read the next issue immediately. Harrower #1 features the type of town that won't allow temptation to take the apple from the tree. For the settlers and curreent elders of Barlowe , NY something like the Harrower is more pleasant, and necessary for their prosperty, than being unpure. In order to make a hedge grow, you need to prune it. Read Full Review

Harrower #1 emerges out of the gate strong, making a quick impact. Strong writing and illustration should keep readers coming back for more... and that's well before the gory action and startling cliffhanger all but ensures as much. Read Full Review

It’s more like an 8.5 but that 4 is fuckan bonkers. It’s a nice start to a slasher comic. A couple cool kills. The art is pretty good and the writing is real good.

I wasn't a fan of the art style or the androgynous pink-hair (male?) character with the glasses, but I do enjoy horror stories with good villains. I wish the art style was a little darker and more contrasty. I also didn't buy the twist at the end, since non would have predicted that they would get a flat tire at that exact moment, and then just the two of them start walking in that direction. So, the story is a series conveniences. Let's hope it gets better as it continues.

Well this was interesting. It's an ok read with a good enough premise. The hook at the end is bringing me back even if it was a little slow getting there. It's also a shame that the villain looks just like Kindred from Amazing Spider-Man.
