Another intriguing new series from BOOM! Studios then, and while this is certainly more of an appetizer than a main course, there are enough intriguing storyline seeds being sown to make anyone picking this first issue up feel fairly confident about forking out for the second. A sharp, stylish take on the afterlife, this series has a ton of potential and is well worth a look. Read Full Review

What a high-quality comic! I got that issue with Foil Cover. I'm so happy about it. This is my first Foil Cover. And it's absolute rad! I started reading this comic while a storm outside breaks loose while hearing "Grim Reaper Song" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5UVcadjYPU] (starting with "X Ray Dog - Sorcerer"). The first part of the comic was breathtaking and I enjoyed every detailed - especially the truly awesome colors. That was a unique setting! The second part unfolds more details of the "new world" convincingly. Interesting start - I am curious how the story continues.

Off to a strong start. While the story and execution (lol) are pretty standard for these sort of tales, GRIM has enough spunk, energy, and identity to keep me interested. With a group of characters and world and lore brimming with potential, Stephanie Phillips and Flaviano have what they need to make an interesting new series.

This was a strong and intriguing start to this series. While I do think this, somewhat, suffers from first issue setup, I enjoyed this and I think there's a lot of interesting ideas here. The characters here are compelling and I think there's a lot of potential in terms of exploring them further as times goes on. Plus, Flaviano's art here is great and he really adds to this book.

A concept that has been done before so I'll hold judgement for now but how many times do I have to see one more soul not willing to move to the afterlife story with many caretakers' team ups straight out of the futuristic 80s. Flaviano is absolutely dialed in and his art is crisp, clean and tight lined or muddied when it's suited. We'll see what the twist is but this is a decent start for a good comic to a new reader but nothing ground breaking to someone that has consumed other similar stories.
