Angel #3 was a fast read, but it got us to a good place in this story. From here, we got a very good idea as to what's in store for us investing in this book. Theres solid work in Angel #3. Its slowly laying the groundwork for new adventures of the Angel/Fred/Gunn/Wesley team we all know and love. Its a shame the book is constrained by a reboot, that mostly serves the needs of another book. Read Full Review

Fred is an interesting choice of a first companion to Angel, rather than Cordelia (who is still in high school) and Lilith‘s note about Angel's journey helping to quiet her mind makes you wonder what version of the character we may see when Angel emerges from the hellish maze Fred just sent him to. This was a solid, albeit quick issue. I don't have much to say about it, unlike the previous issues, simply because not all that much happens. Especially not much that requires analysis through the lens on the show this book is based on. But I had a good time reading it, despite that.
