Darkness has possessed another innocent...and Angel has no choice but to fight them. Trapped in an empty hospital with nowhere to go, Angel needs to find a way to save the host from this deadly and elusive demon, or have yet another life on his conscience. Will his new ally Fred Burkle be able to help him...or is she the reason he's battling this monster in the first place? The next exciting chapter of the pop culture reimagining that made headlines worldwide continues from Bryan Edward Hill (Detective Comics, Killmonger), Gleb Melnikov and series creator Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marvel’s The Avengers).

But Why Tho? - Kate Snchez

With the Hellmouth event announced during SDCC, we know that inAngel #5we're going to see Angel and Buffy meet, but until then, I'm satisfied with the bonds that Hill is solidifying.Angel #3further shows readers that both Hill and Melnikov understand not only the character of Angel but the toy box of horror imagery and trope and how to play with it. Angel #3 was a fast read, but it got us to a good place in this story. From here, we got a very good idea as to what's in store for us investing in this book. They are very much sticking to everything we know about the history of Angel, while at the same time throwing in their own unique twists which make this both updated and refreshing. Read Full Review

Theres solid work in Angel #3. Its slowly laying the groundwork for new adventures of the Angel/Fred/Gunn/Wesley team we all know and love. Its a shame the book is constrained by a reboot, that mostly serves the needs of another book. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp

Fred is an interesting choice of a first companion to Angel, rather than Cordelia (who is still in high school) and Lilith‘s note about Angel's journey helping to quiet her mind makes you wonder what version of the character we may see when Angel emerges from the hellish maze Fred just sent him to. Worth a look. Read Full Review
