Florida Geek Scene - Bryce Osceola
May 04, 2016Rochelle packs a lot of liveliness into its first issue and leaves readers wanting more after they read the last page. There is some enjoyable themes similar to Poltergeist film and Ant-Man comic series, and all of the different themes seem to come together nicely in the story. Hopefully, the upcoming issues will explore more of the backstory of Rochelle's origins and delve deeper into the personalities of the characters. All in all, Rochelle promises to be an exciting action, sci-fi adventure that will make readers weary of their iPads! Read Full Review

Sep 21, 2016Overall, Rochelle the Teen Cockroach is exactly what I expect from indie comics: otherworldliness, style, relatability, and weird new villains. Mainstream superhero comics have lost their relatability in recent years. They are about extravagant and impossible heroes who swoop in and save the universe from unimaginable horrors. Their personal lives and internal struggles are lost in the world of big-budget cinema and destruction-heavy action. Loved this debut issue of Rochelle from Antarctic Press. Classic 80-90'style art work, with a fun story. Reminds me of a female Spider Man. Crime-fighting adolescent, who also deals with the everyday life of a teenager. Nice to see a strong lead female character. I expect big things from this series.

Really happy that my comic shop recommended this new series from Antarctic Press. I loved the story and the art was fantastic. A little research revealed that the artist is Dell Barras, who did some work for DC Comics and Marvel UK back in the 80's. I loved the classic feel of both the art and the story. Looking forward to more from this creative team.

Sub Par debut. Art was ok but the story did not grad me as an intro issue should. Hope it gets better.
