We Live is moving at its own pace that works well for immersing us into the world even more. I really love the visuals of the whole thing from top to bottom as it feels like everything has meaning behind it and that it could be dug into in some really neat ways. I'm less connected to the characters overall since we're focusing on the kids and they're not exactly my cup of tea but seeing the world through their eyes and how they're trying to survive is really well done. The bit of backstory we get on Humbo and Alice adds some new nuance to things and I'm excited to see where things go next with this as they push further ahead toward their destination. I'm rating this issue a point lower than the first. Why? The flow of the story misses it in two little spots. I felt like they could have slowed down instead of not developing one of the main scenes. However, overall a great comic, artwork is just incredible, I like all of the characters. For the first time we are seeing the "real" Alice. Look forward to issue three.

Their party slaughtered before their eyes, Tala and Hototo are rescued by their friend Humbo and his ape-like companion, Alice. While playing with some old military tech, Humbo accidentally separates himself from the group causing the loyal Alice to give chase, leaving Tala and Hototo behind. Reunited, Humbo and Alice search for their friends only to fin d only Hototo’s tail covered in a strange green ooze. This is an amazing book. I’m in love with the artwork and the writing is great. I didn’t expect their guide to be gone so soon. Honestly, I thought he was to be a larger part of the series. I enjoy being proved wrong like that. This is definitely a book that has me excited. A part of me doesn’t even want them to leave with the aliens but rather continue in their exploration of Earth.
