I Breathed a Body #2

Buy this series, please. Please go out and buy this. I need this book to do well because I want to see the trade come out, and I want that to do so well that someone greenlights an oversized hardcover edition, because that, ultimately, is what I need on my shelf. I want a huge book that really shows off the art with scripts and concept art and essays on the process of writing and designing something this good. I Breathed a Body will make you want to sign off of social media forever. This is an unsettling comic that is increasingly more relevant with each passing day. One of the trends of the last few years in this modern social age is to bring it into comics in various ways. This one does it similar to a few others we've seen AfterShock put out in how it handles social media and incorporating it both in story and through visuals and it works well enough. But at the same time, like how Mylo becomes, it feels a little dull and uninteresting. It's not presented badly but we've seen it a bunch of times now and it doesn't do anything to enhance the story. At times, it even feels like shortcuts and cheats to move through parts of the story presentation. But I know that it's legitimate in how it's trying to present it so it's more just my own feeling toward it. I'm not sure I'll be back for more as the whole dogs and head thing just left a bad taste in my mouth even if it looks like it's going a different route outward the end here. Read Full Review

It was a little more messed up then the 1st issue. I am curious to what this all leads to and how it will end. I wish there was more explanation to whats been going on at the beginnings of both issues so far but overall pretty darn good.

I Breathed A Body Issue: 2 “Cooperative Resilience” Publisher: @aftershockcomics Writer: @zacbethompson Artist: @andymacdeez Colorist: @triona_farrell Cover: Andy MacDonald & Triona Farrell Letterer: @hassoe This second issue of I Breathed a Body takes place immediately after the last issue ended. The world is reacting to the horrific livestream of the suicide of the worlds biggest social media influencer. Anne and her co-workers lean into the violence as they make the death into a public spectacle in hope to have financial gain. This science fiction horror series about social media, big tech and influencer culture is definitely intriguing. The way they are making his death a spectacle is truly mortifying. The ima gery throughout this issue is absolutely horrifying. There are absolutely some amazing visuals throughout this issue. McDonald’s artwork is really keeping me interested in this story. There’s not much character focus in this issue and I feel like they focused more on the horrifying imagery rather than character development. This story is definitely worthy of a read, however I’m still trying to see where this is all going.
