Structurally, the longest series of Remender's career ends in a bit of a flash. Still, there's enough room for tension, enough time to remind us all of how much we despise Brandy Lynn and Shabnam.

The end is here, and it's hitting as hard as you could fear. Will anyone make it out alive?

Demon Wars: Shield of Justice #1 is among the best Marvel titles on shelves.

It's hard saying goodbye to a character like Lona after only seven issues, and the inherently bittersweet nature of mini-series coming to an end is exacerbated by the final images of Do A Powerbomb!, a stirring marriage of love and loss. For now, all we can do is await the trade this spring and eagerly wonder what's next from Daniel Warren Johnson!

Momoko is preparing her grandest Marvel story to date, and The Iron Samurai serves up a splendid start.

Flavor Girls is too much fun. While the sci-fi epic has yet to take off, the beautiful art and charming character interactions is more than worth the price of admission.

Hitomi #2, is masterful in its narrative efficiency.

Scarlet Witch #1 is an enjoyable read created by people who not only understand the character of Wanda as she is, but in terms of who she needs to be and where she needs to go.

Despite all the fun and tension of Batman #128, Zdarsky's story might be becoming too big for its own good, unless the writer is under a 12 issue contract or something similarly short.

Chip Zdarsky proposed a simple climax for his Daredevil run: the end of the Hand. So far, the Red Fist Saga has been blood complicated for the devil of Hell's Kitchen--not to mention a whole hell of a lot of fun to read!

With upwards of 50 pages of story each issue, Locatelli-Kournwsky has been able to take the time to explore the dynamics and back stories of each character. The sci-fi elements remain a bit well-trodden, but the Agarthan ships and bosses are a pleasing, uncanny blend of French comics and Super Sentai anime.

Rogues' Gallery #2 is one of the strongest individual issues of the year so far.

Scarlet Witch #3 is out next month and looks to begin something of an arc for the series. I'm all for it, but I hope the creative team does not lose sight of how well the current structure is working.

Vecchio has already explored the fine line between the men who want to kill women and the men who wish to be killed by women. It will be interesting to see how she pits her antagonists against the object of their derision. I expect a lot more blood and guts come Lovesick #3, but what I'm really hoping for is more of a hook into Domino herself.

Gradually showing readers which characters are important and outlining themes and motifs is, of course, part of the storytelling process; but we are already 20 percent finished with the story. In other words, Hitomi #1 functions better as a #1 of 12, or the first of an ongoing series, as opposed to the first of a five-act play.

Lovely and sick, indeed.

Batman #129 looks fantastic, but the narrative falls short.

Saga is back--that sounds familiar.
