A.D After Death #2continues to be engaging, but is hampered by inconsistent transitions in the narrative. The visuals are very well done and the water color like color tones are refreshing. I just wish there were more of them.

Angel City #3 has a good story overall, a story that continues to highlight the history of Hollywood in the 30's. The artwork is really engaging and makes every character stand out. The plot could be leaner but there is hope that the stories come together for a satisfying conclusion.

Aquaman #13 continues a compelling take on a story that has been told before with this character. The artwork is very well done and conveys the fluidity and power of the sea and its king.

Batman '66 meets Wonder Woman '77 #1 is a solid first issue that effectively sets all the pieces on the proverbial board in a way that makes you want to see the next move. The writing is crisp and the visuals give a retro feel that is in keeping with the subject matter.

Batman Annual #1 haseffective storytelling by everyone with stand-out segments by Tom King, Paul Dini and Steve Orlando. The artwork is really good, especially in the segments by Neal Adams, Riley Rossmo and Declan Shalvey. A good holiday read for fans of Batman and the city he protects.

It really feels like two issues won't be enough to tell this sort of “I Am Suicide” epilogue. I want to see more of it, and I suppose if Selina isn't locked away at the end of issue 15 then we will, but if she is, that'll leave huge question marks going forward. That's really the most effective thing this issue does: it sets up for a great next issue. We see that a lot in single-issue reading, so it's unfair to call it a huge gripe, I just hope King and company can either find a way to tell a satisfying conclusion to this Selina story, or better yet, find a way to keep her on the right side of the bars.

Batman/TMNT Adventures #2 hasa predictable plot with familiar characters who have no chemistry with each other on the page. The artwork is good and showcases the animation style of each series, but the paint by numbers story becomes tedious quickly.

Conan The Slayer #5 is a well-paced story and engaging plot presented by bunn that is helped by Davila's detail oriented visuals.

Deadman Book 2 boasts someimpressive visual flair in the look of the characters with an engaging, multi-layered plot that serves the overall story effectively.

Detective Comics #944 boasts someimpressive visuals with a mixture of styles and a story that draws you into its big action scenes and its subtle detective work.

The story of Detective Comics #946 continues to engage with each character given their own hero moment. Spoiler continues to be a relatively flat character with little to no actual value on the team. The artwork continues to move and flow giving the reader a feast for the eyes.

Unfortunately, the art does little to help that opinion. While the backgrounds seem trippy and interesting in their own right, they also highlight the flat, uninteresting foreground details in the characters. Fate, Thoth and everything else in the frame seem like an afterthought and it makes the panels which feature action boring. The preeminent magic force in the DC universe deserves a host that takes that responsibility seriously and art that showcases the power, beauty and majesty the character demands.

The Flash #12 hasa satisfying conclusion to the story with the hint of things to come. The artwork is good in moments, but can be a little flat in others.

Green Lanterns #10 gives usimpressive visuals and deeper character development for Baz and Jessica. The mystery villain has potential to be either formidable or annoying based on what was presented so far. Solid first part of the story.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #8 features some out of this world art. The story looks like the beginning of an epic story arc, but the missing Hal Jordan aspect needs to be solved sooner rather than later.

Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps #10 gives us a story that skillfully juggles its separate plots together while delivering stunning visuals that move you to linger on the details.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #12 is a satisfying, but short conclusion to the story-line and art that always impresses. Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps continues to show an effective and dynamic team.

Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #1 is afantastic first issue that delivers both on story and action with a final page reveal that will have the DC Comics faithful excited. The artwork is amazing in its detail and the story makes you excited for more. Pick this issue up and you will not be disappointed.

Justice League vs. Suicide Squad'sstory continues to build in this issue and while it serves more to reveal additional plot points, it continues to be executed in a way that keeps the reader engaged and interested. The artwork is lush and detailed with a vibrant use of color. Definitely becoming a must read.

Justice League vs. Suicide Squadcontinues to satisfactorily unfold with revelations that are informative and exciting as the story progresses. The artwork is very well done as it continues almost the same style as the last two issues which allows the reader to concentrate on the story.

Justice League vs. Suicide Squad's story continues to draw you in and you want to keep reading. The art is great and the action beats are natural and flow well. The end reveal is a little too predictable and not that compelling as a plot point.

Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #5 This issue just seemed like a continuation of the plot. It didn't really give one the sense that this story is coming to a satisfactory conclusion.

Lake of Fire #5 isa satisfying conclusion to a story should not have worked conceptually, but does in this instance. The plot is fast paced and full of action and the artwork shows a brutal beauty that is visually stunning.

Serenity: No Power in the Verse Part 1 is a solid beginning to a new story arc and as long as they "aim to misbehave", I'm in.

Baker and Flynn are great at crafting this story that has the detectives on the hunt for a missing undersea princess with a Lieutenant from the City Guard who really doesn't need them as much as they think she does. The story takes the detectives from the city to deep beneath the sea as they battle crooked dock workers, long explanations and eventually undersea pirates. The comedic back and forth that the writers inject into the story is engaging and actually very funny. Thomas's artwork is crisp, bright and detailed and his use of the color makes the characters and backgrounds pop and gel together well. Will Team Chaotix risk it all for the sake of rescuing the princess? Will Vector get the detective glory that he's desperately searching for? Will they get paid? Pick it up and find out.

The Belfry well done story with visceral, engrossing artwork. The plot moves well and is well paced, but does leave you wanting more.

The story is engaging and made me interested in once again visiting theworld ofThe Dark Crystal that I loved from my childhood, but I wish the visuals kept me as engaged.

The Rise and Fall of Captain Atom #1 is a well plotted and engaging first issue. The creative team knows this character inside and out and it will be interesting to see what twists this story takes in the next few issues. The artwork conveys power and pain in its depiction of Captain Atom.

The creative team behind Unfollow has crafted an effectively smaller story in this issue with potentially huge repercussions in the world they've created. The artwork conveys the global impact that people who pursue social media fame can have and its scale is beautiful to see.

Wonder Woman '77 Meets The Bionic Woman #1 is asolid first issue that grabs the reader in its take on these two iconic characters. The story is interesting and engaging and the artwork is solid with an emphasis on showcasing the action and power of the Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman.
