Bad Jumping-On-Point Here's the deal. Pick up this series. If you can't find the first three issues, then the Artifacts Hardcover featuring issues 1-4 and the Free Comic Book Day 0 issue (which explains each of the artifacts) will be out sometime this month. This is not the best jumping on point for new readers since it's the end of the first act. This is one of my favorite story arcs of the year, and I'm sure you guys will love it too. By the way, check out the preview of the first four pages below.

Bad Jumping-on PointIt's the second to last issue in the mini-series, so I can't say this is a must have issue, and it's not a place a new reader needs to jump on to, but this may be a great mini-series to pick up as a whole, if it comes out in trade. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of the character, this is a book I'd read just for the art and composition. If you've been enjoying the mini-series, continue reading it. If you haven't been reading it, borrow it from a friend.

Ok Jumping On Point If you've ever read any of the Darkness before, but maybe you've dropped off, you should have no problem jumping back onto this book. For the few of us who have never read the book before, there will be some confusing points in the issue, but it stands out on its own. I've come to learn this year that Top Cow does a lot of quality books that I didn't think I'd like. I really got sucked into Magdalena and Artifacts this year, because of other reviews I've done, and now I plan on catching up with Darkness. I highly recommend this issue.

Good Jumping on Point Although this first issue does come off as a bit confusing, it does a decent job of catching the reader up on what's happened previously. One of the things I found most interesting in the book was the incorporation of how the virus affects animals. There's tons of zombie comics out there, and a lot of them don't cover this. Out of all those zombie comics on the shelf, this is by far one of the better ones. It's worth the read, and this is a good place to jump on.

Great Starting Point! Although it's the second issue of the storyline, this is a great place to pick up as long as you realize a couple of things: Bruce Wayne just returned from the dead and Hush was posing as Bruce Wayne in his absence and looks exactly like him. There's a lot of Bat-books on the market this week: Batman, Batman Inc, Batman: The Return, and this book. I've read them all, and this was my favorite Batbook of the week, with Batman Inc falling shortly behind.

If you're reading Chaos War, borrow this book from a friend, but only if you're REALLY interested; otherwise, just pass it up. There's no real saving grace to this issue, and you'd be better off picking up something else.

This book is ridiculous, in a good way. We're only three issues in, so you should still be able to find the first two at your local comic book store. It may not be everyone's cup-o-tea, but it is a fun-fantasy adventure filled with great action, dialogue, and recipes for stew.

Stand-Alone Issue! Great Starting Point! This is one of those books I'd tell any one from ComicVine to get, since the battle forums are a big part of the site. This is a comic book dedicated to comic fans. It's a great stand-alone issue, and you get two stories for $2.99. Ignore the cover and the solicit though, since they have nothing to do with this issue.

Solid book and a great follow-up to the original series by Heinberg and Cheung. This is not a great jumping on point if you've never read the Young Avengers before, but I highly recommend picking up the original 12 issue series. For Young Avengers fans, this is a fun series so far and a must have.

I'm loving the overall story arc, and I can't wait to read it in its entirety in the next few weeks when part six comes out. Greg Pak's run on Hulk has been fun and he's introduced a lot of characters that I'm sure we'll see around for years. This is not the place to start reading though; however, these issues are coming out twice a month, so you should be able to find the rest of the story at your local shop. Finally, this book is back on track and a great read once again.

Originally, I had this book rated at a 2 simply because I really didn't like it. But aside from my personal problems with it, it is a very solid book. The writing and art are great, and it's fun, but it's all about whether or not you like these two characters. I didn't read the first issue, but I had no trouble following this issue. It stands on it's own pretty well, so feel free to jump in now!

Don't look for any action in this month's Action Comics; however, it was a dynamite issue regardless, and a wonderful introduction to Death from Sandman. Although you may not be into the direction that Action Comics has taken the past few months, this is one issue you have to pick up. By far, it's one of my favorite things DC has put out this year.

Great start to what seems to be a great storyline. I had my doubts, but this issue was a great read. The deterioration of this team, and a few of its characters, seems to be the focus in this storyline, so keep your eye on it, before this team possibly disappears forever.

Perfect Starting Point!

Bad Jumping On Point Not the greatest place to begin reading this comic. I've never been shy about saying "I'm not a Wonder Woman fan," but there have been a few WW things here and there I've liked. This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I'd actually say save your money and buy Superman: Earth One instead because this book was pretty forgettable. If you're still interested in Wonder Woman, but haven't been keeping up, pick up #605, when it seems a new story will start.

If you like the show, you'll love this book. It's as simple as that. Yes, the story can be viewed as a bit repetitive compared to the Return of the Joker film, but I really think this has its own flair to it. I can't wait to see this as its own on-going series. Highly Recommended.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this issue, but you can't deny the writing and art are pretty strong. Again, I'm not a Martian Manhunter fan, so an issue revolving around that character isn't going to excite me. If you are a fan of that character, I'd recommend this book highly. If you're a casual reader of Brightest Day, I'd actually say pass on this, since there's nothing in this issue that drives the whole story forward.

It's the most enjoyable book I've read from Marvel, since the last issue of Deadpool came out. I know Deadpool is everywhere, and a chunk of the books he's in range from bland to "no thanks," but don't let that get you down because this book is the complete opposite. If you're looking from a break from 50-issue story-arcs and ultra-serious story lines that seemingly take the fun out of comics, then this is the perfect comic for you. Highly Recommended.

For comic book fans that want to make the transition to independent comics that still have the "big two" feel to it, Green Hornet may be what they're looking for. It's flat-out a fun book with great art and great writing, and although this issue may not be the best for a new reader to jump on, the series is only on issue #8, so picking up those first 7 shouldn't be a tremendous challenge. I highly recommend this book.

I may seem harsh, but it's all about opinion, and while (even though I've said it numerous times) I think Neal Adams has done some stellar work, I don't think this book, overall, is worthwhile. If you're a Neal Adams fan, I'd say for sure pick this book up because it really does highlight his art, and frankly, it looks great, but the book as a hole falls incredibly flat, and feels dated. I do not recommend this book.

It's the first issue of the mini-series, and it's a whole bunch of set-up. The book comes off like a mystery with answers that are revealed the second the questions are asked. I have a feeling this book will be a lot better when the rest of the issues come out, and it may be a good trade read, but this issue alone is not recommended.

It's a solid book, and if you're sick of super-heroes, which many of us feel from time-to-time, this is a refreshing break from the tedium, and before you make your final judgment, based on my review. Look at this picture I took of a panel:
