There's a place for this kind of simple, bloody horror in entertainment. The Silver Coin doesn't pretend to be anything more than supernatural gore; these stories embrace the genre and lean into it. Recommended for anyone looking for a Jason experience in comic form.

Some of these doodles manipulate shading, shapes, and depth like surrealist art. Some portraits are beautiful, some are hideous, and most are both. This collection of art contains short strips, stories casually doodled over several pages, coloured comix covers, beautiful, meticulous, deliberate impressionist narratives, crass caricatures but it all unmistakeably comprises Crumbs world. This is indisputably our world, distorted and hideous and painfully honest when translated by the mind and the hand of R. Crumb.

If you're into the rock/metal scene or if you enjoy some horror, then The Silver Coin is for you. Since this story seems to be about the artifact, it might be best to avoid getting too invested in the characters; also, expect and embrace the clichs. But if you want to see some disturbing depictions of an egotistical rock star doing what egotistical rock stars do best, with heavy undertones of a malicious curse and promises of more bloody consequences in future issues, then give The Silver Coin a read (and let us know what you thought)!
