DC vs. Vampires #4 is another stellar entry in a series that serves as a reminder that zany combinations and bold genre experiments are not just well suited to superhero comics -- they are perhaps what they do best.

Its blend of everyday humor with the specter of larger-than-life threats on the horizon strikes a perfect balance that hits the sweet spot that admirers of Wally West and The Flash have come to expect.

Man-Bat #4 is another solid entry in a mini-series that's fast-paced, well-drawn, and confident enough in its character-driven themes to stand out in a climate where there are a lot of Gotham books being published.

This issue doesn't have quite the scope or expert pacing of the previous two, but the plot developments and character moments are enough to keep patient readers sticking around to find out what comes next.

The characters and setting are endlessly fun, and the story is brimming with potential both for excitement and satisfying exploration. I'm happy to take it in small doses if they'll all manage to be this sweet.

The plot and story mechanics here still aren't particularly compelling, but there are plenty of fun subversions of the Justice League mythos and smart stylistic choices to keep hardcore fans turning the pages.
