All-New Hawkeye 1 is familiar yet new. In the words of Kate Bishop "You still got it, Hawkeye".

Hawkeye 2 is on solid ground, creating stories that you want to follow through, and the villains may turn out to be the most unexpected of all: children.

The dust has now cleared and the survivors have won. But there is still a lot to wrap up, and some questions left to answer. Bring on issue 15.

The end of the issue hints at maybe a slightly quieter time for Spidey, where he foils a mugging upon returning to earth 616. To him, there is no Small Stuff and Slott continues to show Spider-Man as the hero who will always stand up no matter how big or small the problem. While it was great to see every Spider-Man ever, it will be nice to see Spidey swinging through Manhattan once again.

This is the Spidey book I want. Fun, challenging, high stakes and with a twist I didn't see coming.

All in all, a good entry into this limited series. Heres hoping it continues this way.

Each issue has improved on the last, and this series concludes with issue 5. There is a lot that has to happen in this final issue, and I hope its a satisfying conclusion to a fun series.

A teen comedy drama with a cast that is almost automatically endearing, Archie issue one is off to a great start.

Batman is a strong book from start to finish. Highly recommended.

In the backup story, by James Tynion IV and Dustin Nguyen, we finish the story of the five Arkham escapees when they learn the truth about the Joker. This just shows how manipulative the Joker is, as his origin is revealed to a broken group. This is a grim story, but really shows the Joker at his worst.

If you want one book that leaves you nervous and excited after finishing it, pick it up. I've already started re-reading It.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are on a creative roll. This is a creative team who have knocked it out of the park for 40 issues, and they continue to do so with this issue. Snyder balances a flashback story with a modern action scene with great characters and dialogue. He's not afraid to let his characters speak, and show their concerns and make mistakes.

There are some fun action sequences in here, and a new Bat-Mobile that looks more like a Bat-Truck. Capullo creates fluid action and there is one page where he creates a Batman made out of brick that is awesome to look at.

This is a series everyone should be reading.

The writing is coarse and vulgar and to the point. It's a gut punch of an issue while Powell's art is intricate, detailed, and gory. This is definitely adults only. But it's great to see something so 'no holds barred'. A violent angry masterpiece. Which is no 'small' feat*.

A strong second issue. This has the makings of a classic series.

Tim Weisch creates a strong third issue with a tightly writing script that pulls the reader in straight away. This is a revenge story of the highest calibre. I'm gutted it's a limited series but once it's collected it'll be a great addition to anyone's shelf.

This creator owned series has got to be a contender for one of the best mini series of the year. While it might not be for all, it's a memorable saga that will stay with you for a long time.

Birthright Issue 6 wont be out until April, which is a long time…Ill be waiting. Will you?

It's good to have Birthright back. It's short hiatus was noticeable and It's great to be able to delve into this fantasy world again. The story is a slow burn fantasy that feels like it has a lot of story and character to show us. So far the journey has been excellent, with a creative team that clearly compliment each other in their storytelling techniques.

Birthright has been, not only a solid read from the start, but an enjoyably engrossing one. From the moment Mikey got lost in the woods, I've been hooked, and with each issue been consistently good, I will continue to be hooked until this series wraps up (hopefully not too soon).

Birthright has a great balance of character development, humour, magic and drama yet is in no rush to give you all the answers. Each issue is enjoyable and yet you want more. Issue 8 is no exception. Add this to your pull list. No excuses!

Another strong entry in a great series, Birthright needs to be read by everyone. That includes you!

After all that has happened in this issue, I honestly cant wait for the next one. Unfortunately, its going on a bit of a break until November, but itll be back with a giant sized issue. I for one cant wait.

ThIs issue is all about the premise. From the cliffhanger it may get to the meat and bones of the story a lot quicker than expected. Read it before it becomes a movie!

Issue 2 is a great follow up to issue 1 and takes an unexpected twist that turns Chrononauts from a good read to a great read.

Next issue concludes the series. If the first 3 issues are anything to go by, it's going to be a spectacular finale.

Full of boundless energy, Chrononauts 4, and the whole arc, is just what the Doctor ordered.

Overall an issue that does its job, which is all about the set up. Let's hope for a more memorable issue next week.

So far the series has still to deliver on the multiverse wide drama and epicness it promises but it has picked up a bit. Hopefully it will find its feet in the upcoming issues.

There are some nice panels including one image of Brainiac that shows a terrifying Monster that has a great design. But this issue, and the series itself, fails to do anything but frustrate.

Overall, this issue, while a slight improvement in terms in pacing and plot, is still not enough to make me care about the characters and their fates. Nothing feels at stake, and it reads more like a spinoff than the main event.

There finally feels to be a slight sense of danger and consequence that the series badly needed. Hopefully the creative team will build on this in future issues.

After a shaky first half of the arc, writers Jeff King and Scott Lobdell create an issue on slightly surer footing, building to a battle that may decide the fate of the multiverse. Ed Benes and Eduardo Pansica on pencils captures some of the energy that Andy Kubert had on display last issue and there are one or two little nods that hark back to some classic silver age moments.

However, with only one issue left, it does feel like there is a lot to cram in to one final issue. Will it be enough? We'll know in a weeks time when Convergence finally wraps up.

While this issue was a strong ending, the experience of Convergence in general left a lot to be desired. As this was done to accommodate a move in location can I just ask one thing? Don't move anytime soon again DC. Stay in Burbank for as long as you can!

This creative team clearly gels very well together and they combine to make a very fine first issue that is tons and tons of fun.

A strong start to a great book. EI8HT has the potential to be a fantastic series. Oh, and did I mention it has Nazis and dinosaurs? Ill take two copies please.

What can be said about Rafael Albuquerque's art that hasn't been said before? It's exquisite. Some of the compositions within this book will leave you breathless. And while it's a time hopping adventure, a lot of the story is told in facial expressions as characters interact with each other, and each action, each thought, is reflected through beautiful line work. While it's the weakest of the issues compared to what has gone before, it's still miles above a lot of what's on the stands.

Energetic without feeling rushed, Eight 4 (!) is a great penultimate issue in a excellent series. Bring on issue 5.

This creative team have delivered one of the most entertaining and beautiful books on the market. If you're late to the story, make sure to get it in trade.

This is a charming book, full of wit and great characters. Definitely one to pick up.

For the most part Giant Days seems to be a series of standalone stories with a slight undercurrent of a story arc between Susan and McGraw. This is a light humorous series that will make you smile as you enjoy some great cartoonish art.

Another great issue in a limited series, pick up Giant Days. And if you like that (how can you not?) look out for Lumberjanes and Help Us! Great Warrior. Also by Boom Studios and reviewed here on ComicBuzz.

It's not just a great story to read, but a beautiful book to look at.

Everyone brings their A game, and this has got to be one of the strongest comic book issues to hit the stands this month.

Giant Days was originally a 6 issue series, but due to very popular demand BOOM has extended it to a 12 issue run. While it is sad to see Treiman go (though shell remain on covers), the artist Max Sarin will be stepping into the saddle next month. Checking out her Tumbler, she does seem like she will be a worthy successor to Treiman. Cannot wait to see the art on issue 7.

The story itself is basic but filled with great humour, accessible to both adults and children. The art is cute but also shows off some killer demon designs. The balance between these is stellar and Madeleine Flores deserves some great praise for all the work she has done as artist and writer. The accompanying colors by Trillian Gunn really adds to the overall character of this issue. This is something different from your usual fare and all the better for it. Light hearted and witty, 'Help Us! Great Warrior' will make anyone smile.

Told with humour and great art, Help Us! Great Warrior is a book you cant help but love.

A perfect all ages book from 1 to 100 (anyone over that age is welcome to).

Whatever your age, this is a must read and a great alternative to more series fare.

This is a laugh out loud funny comic book, and gives you yet another layer (mainly of jokes) on each re-reading. Full of familiar faces and interesting new characters, this is the start of an enjoyable ride. WAUGH!

Be warned, the more you read, the more you'll find yourself making bird puns.

Howard the Duck is a strong contender for Marvels most fun book every month (but don't tell Squirrel Girl).

Each and every artist, writer, colourist and letterer brings their A-game to this collection. If you not only want to support the Irish comic book scene, but pick up a genuinely brilliant collection of stories, pick up Lightning Strikes latest.

This book is really fun. If you want something unique, and something that will make you smile, check this out. I'll be back for issue two and will be chasing up the original series.

Recommended for all ages.

Nailbiter issue 10 is tense, fast, and horrific and shows the potential birth of another Buckaroo killer. Hopefully after the hack/slash crossover we'll get some answers as Finch and Warren finally get to 'talk'.

It is a gloriously powerful issue that pulls out all the stops to grab you by the throat and not let go. While I hope Nailbiter doesn't reveal all its secrets straight away, it looks like we'll get some answers soon.

Overall this is a solid entertaining issue in a series that keeps entertaining and horrifying in equal measure. Pick it up! Just don't get any ideas…

Nailbiter continues to entertain and horrify in equal measure. Issue 14 can't come quick enough.

My gut feeling that the answers they find are going to be terrifying, and have repercussions that will send shock waves through the Nailbiter Universe, but we shall see. As it stands, enjoy the ride. And don't go into the catacombs.

This is the most thrilling comic I have read in a long time, and long-standing fans will be pleased with this issue. Unfortunately the team is now taking a small break until October, so if you need your Nailbiter fix, go back and read the two trades again. That's my plan anyway!

This is a mind bending epic that holds great promise.

This issue is more accessible than the first and works wonders in its favour. A solid second issue.

This issue is huge. The creative team create something the eyes can just about take in. The visuals are epic and the pacing of each reveal is skilfully drawn. While we see the asteroid in all its horrible glory we also start to get the feeling that our heroes are pawns in an otherworldly game. We are then left with a cliffhanger only Grant Morrisson could come up with. Horrifying and visceral, Nameless 3 will make you re-read it again and again.

That last page says it all. It does not bode well for humanity.

This is a good issue 1. It's fun, the main character is likeable and feels like it could be a great adventure. It's an accessible jumping on point. Give it a try.

This is a strong series that deserves attention. I'm hoping for an even better issue 3.

Overall this issue offers you plenty of action, and whether you're a fan of James Bond or like the seventies style adventures of Harry Palmer, you'll find something here you'll like.

This is the end of volume one, and volume two begins in June. If you haven't yet, pick this up (or get the trade when it comes out). It's well worth it.

Alex Grecian has used the time off well, coming back with a well crafted issue that clearly has an end goal in mind. Riley Rossmo continues to create images and scenes that deliver on Grecian's story, creating action and excitement, while offering up some stunning visuals, and the resurrection scenes never fail to impress. Ivan Plascenia's colours only add to Rossmo's refined yet scratchy pencils, and creates a unique feel to a book that feels old and fresh all at the same time.

Secret Wars issue 1 feels and reads like an obituary. Indeed the last page says as much. But it also feels like a small chapter in a much larger scheme. And after this first issue, I am 100% on board.

There is history and character behind this world we've just being introduced to, and if the first two issues are anything to go by, it promises a world shattering storyline.

A rewarding read, if Secret Wars continues to be this good, we could have a modern classic on our hands.

Jonathan Hickman delivers another powerful, action packed issue of this eight part series. While his dialogue can at times be wordy, it feels necessary and adds weight to the decisions being made. Esad Ribic draws an epic intimate battle that sparkles with power and energy. There are slight moments where the characters faces look ever do slightly odd in the emotion they're conveying, but minor quibbles aside, the art and flow of the book is strong. Ive Svorcina's colours give the art a somewhat ethereal look, and the characters feels like they are brimming with power

Secret Wars continues to impress. With 3 issues left, there is still a lot to get through. However, based on the strength of the issues so far, I have faith the best is yet to come. Praise God Doom!

The story itself has a good balance of seriousness and playful fun. Charles Soule has really shone with this run, and his mix and match of the fantastic and the humorous makes this issue a fitting end. Javier Pulido brings a unique cartoonish style to the proceedings, while Muntsa Vicente gives the characters a colourful feel. The characters are the focus of the art, while the backgrounds are mostly empty, filled in with colour to depict the mood. Indeed, near the end there is a lovely 2-page spread of She-Hulk, looking exceptionally powerful as she moves to trash Nightwatch. With no background to distract, it gives an awesome image to gaze upon.

Silk is set up as a parallel in a lot of ways to Spider-Man and it will be very interesting to see how much the spider bite has made them different as well as the same. Overall a strong first issue with a good artistic team in place. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

Silk could easily have lived in Spider-Man's shadow, but due to a great creative team, she stands out on her own. While we are only 2 issues in, her character is rounded and fully formed. Her life is full of mystery and fate definitely has a lot in store for her. I for one won't mind taking the journey with her.

This is overall a solid Issue One and a great jumping on point. There is a great depth and history to this character that will hopefully be explored over time.

Overall, in the words of Peter Porker, "pretty spectacular spider work!'

Spider-Gwen feels like it's halfway through a long running series than a fledging book. The creative team don't hold back with this issue. Next up? Spider-Gwen-Man! Yep. I don't know what that means either but looking forward to finding out.

This issue Gwen steps a little bit of her super-heroic shadow and delivers a breather from the regular action without loosing any of the energy the book has offered so far.

In just five issues, the creative team have conjured up a world we cared about and a heroine that struggled between her duties as a daughter and those of a superhero. We have not seen the last of Spider-Gwen.

If you pick up only one comic this week, make it this one. You wont regret it.

What separates us from the beasts, Powell asks, and the answer seems to be"nothing. The end of the issue reflects this as the Goon violently dispatches his would be killers. His wild eyes reflecting the monster within. Poignant without being heavy handed, this could be the most classic piece of comic book literature that has been drawn exquisitely in quite some time.

A lot of emotion is bubbling to the surface. Death is coming in the next issue. But for who, only time will tell. A terrific issue from a master storyteller.

Battles writing gives a lot to the reader in the first issue, and the monster itself is intriguing enough that you want to see what he does next (which no doubt will include a lot of murder). The Harvester issue one has got a great premise and promises to be a fun supernatural ride. Hopefully issue 2 will keep up the pace and action.

Is Thor Annual 1 an essential read? No. Is it a fun read with great human moments shared among gods with colourful art and great writing? Hel yes! It is one of the most entertaining reads to have come out in a while. Why not get out a tankard of mead, settle down, and enjoy the best book of the month.

Whether you are a Thor fan or not, this series goes from strength to strength and should be on anyone's pull list.

A lot of story threads begin this issue, and the story is expertly woven by Jason Aaron as he juggles the many characters of the Asgardian realm. The guest artist, Jorge Molina, adds a different take to the art than regular Russell Dauterman and it is beautiful to look at. His colours add a lot to the pencils, conveying each scene with its own palate. You can almost feel the coldness of space, or the warmth of the fire in the Asgardian Dining Hall. Hopefully we will see this artist grace these hallowed pages once more in the not too distant future but for now, enjoy another successful issue of Thor.

Next issue: The Destroyer! And maybe the answer we've all been waiting for.

However, this issue poses more of a tease to Thor's identity than anything else. Here are the facts. Take them for what they're worth. And we'll be back next issue for the big reveal.

Aaron creates great mirth about the battle while artist Dauterman creates images not seen within the nine realms before and when the dust settles, only us, the reader, are shown the true identity of Thor. And the reveal is truly worthy of this tale, and a fitting epilogue to this truly great story arc.

Overall this is a great first issue, it sets up an intriguing mystery, and gives a fresh twist on an old story.
