This series was inspired by the many years of Teen Titans history and hopeful glimpses at what may come in the future. Unfortunately Teen Titans Academy fails to add to that history in ways that will be remembered.

Most of these stories do not accomplish much for the overall "war happening across the DC event. Shadow Warzone #1 feels more like an obligation than something absolutely essential to the plot.

Tom Taylor has managed to concoct a competent who-dun-it in the middle of a high fantasy Elseworld story. However, for a story centered on The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel, it has more of a wider Justice League style reach, more often focusing on characters like Constantine, Wonder Woman, and others.
