I feel bad for rating this issue this low. But honestly, that's just how I feel about it. Maybe its because it comes after SUCH a great issue, but this one was rather slow to get through, a slog...Just the pessimism too, it just gets so overwhelming, although this is probably the first issue to were they try and break this constant stream of just overwhelming despair with some happy moments, which bumped it up a little IMO. The pirate sections this issue were underwhelming to say the least, while they weren't my favorite part of the story, its clear then and even now they are tryna tell something through its plot to us readers, and also I just love the Bernie and the Bernard, they rarely interact but man they jus chill with one another. This issue however? It just felt like way too much, like way too much of these two characters and this pirate story, like I understand its important for the Universe but it didn't engage me that much and immerse me compared to the previous issue. Also, the constant formatting of the nine panels felt VERY repetitive this issue compared to the previous ones, this habit is a bad one which I hope doesn't persist in future issues. The final critique I have is the structure, compared to the previous issue, we got to connect with Dr. Manhattan, this issue? We don't really get to connect with...Anyone, we just see the plot move forward, and while that is nice to happen, directly after such an emotionally gripping story like the last one, it just feels like too sharp of a contrast to be that good of a follow up. Other than that, my usual praises remain the same, but I will say though the Art in this issue was the best the Art has been this entire series, so I feel like that gives this issue a couple more points than before. Other than that, good comic but worst watchmen issue thus-far. |

Again, similar reasoning with the last review on the previous issue, but its just that the World keeps getting darker, which is nice because its a reactant to what happens this issue, which is very good, like I just wish there was something to balance all this darkness, Dan and Laurie is pretty hopeful I guess, but even then its only cause of the stuff shes in RN which is kinda hopeless. Either way tho, everything else hit, the characterization and characters in general have been the best since this entire run so far, and I'm excited to see how the future issues go. I just simply hope Issue 4 is something a little less dark, because seriously this edgy vibe is something that is just a little too extreme for me imo. |

Well....To say this issue is not a masterpiece would be a lie, this has been the best issue so far! Never have I ever been so connected to an issue like this before! Seriously, this is something else! Dr. Manhattan as a character and his story has gotten so much more interesting...Seriously, he may be one of the greatest characters in comics! I mean, my only complaints still are some miscolorings and a super dark World, but aside from that, this issue was near perfection, and for many it probably just is perfection. |

Pretty good so far. It sets up a lot of things and engages us with a good mystery and characters from the start, and the introduction to them is great! Seriously, what a good start. But yea tho, taking some off some points in this rating just because of how dark the tone is, it invites us Viewers in knowing nothing about this World, but the more we get to learn about it, the more edgy it gets. Being dark is a neither good or bad thing on its own, it just gets a little overly dark. Also, coloring issue with the eyebrows of Veidt on page 17. Aside from that, good issue, and great introduction! |

Good, pretty much similar praise with the first issue, although I will say they did make the Comedian a more interesting character and the mystery surrounding the incident that took place in the first issue. So it did great in that department, but the reason why I feel like this issue is overall weaker compared to the first one is that they go way overboard on the dark tones of this world. I don't usually criticize anything in general for having this, but the World in Watchmen just feels overly Dark. Other than that, nothing else to say but yea good issue. |
