The conclusion was worth it
From the darkest bowels of Riker's prison, the old men preside over their empire. Nothing goes down without their say-so; no one draws a breath without their permission. And when a riot explodes, they need only fortify their defenses and ride it out. But someone else is weaving his way through the bloodstained halls, their newest neighbor: Frank Ca...
It's okay, but could be better. Incredible Hulk: the End did a much better job with this concept. Surprisingly, Corben's art was really fitting, but it's still very funny at times.
Legendary artist Richard Corben joins definitive PUNISHER writer Garth Ennis for Frank Castle's last stand! In a world gone mad, the Punisher just might be the sanest man on Earth. Now he's heading home, to the place it all began, and heaven help anyone who stands in his path.
Not the best issue to end the run... But it's sad that's it for Ennis on Punisher. At least he closed the last loose storyline here. Hm, I hope the following 15 issues are at least okay. I think I also need to check all the one-shots...
Garth Ennis concludes his epic run -- in style! They threw up a wall of good men to shield themselves from the Punisher. Now these men of influence and privilege are going to pay. Frank Castle is about to bring his personal war to their doorstep!
It all comes down to a tape. And what seven desperate and insanely powerful men have done to conceal it. So far, they're off to a good start: A Special Forces Squad has got the drop on the Punisher and is poised to fulfill the kill order.
Ugh... I mean, yeah, this time the book excerpts are just pictures, which is at least not boring, but were they really needed here? What's their value? You remove them and what exactly does this comic lose? Without them the actual story piece feels a little bit too short... I don't know, it's an okay comic, but I really don't like the way this story arc is structured. The whole issue moves the sto more
If anyone deserves Frank's vengeance, it's the men who gave the order to kill The Punisher. Men who'll do anything to destroy the proof of their war crimes. Men who underestimated their target.
This time the book parts were fine. But the whole comic is still just okay at best.
A Special Forces Squad has been tasked to bring down the Punisher. These are hard men, but good men, -- not the type of men who deserve the Punisher's vengeance. Frank Castle is about to face the ultimate test of his skills and his personal code.
The pages from that book really slow the pace down. If I wanted to read some Vietnam war memoires, I would just do that. I'm here for the Punisher and I barely see any sense in these excerpts. Yeah, the reason for them was pretty much mentioned a few times, to show how that war could make a man like the Punisher. But there's already Born limited series which did a pretty good work of showing it al more
Eight men who know exactly who Frank Castle is...and how to fight him. Eight men who know that, no matter what they throw at him, he won't fire back. A Special Forces Squad has been tasked to bring him down, by all means necessary.
That was pretty boring overall.
The final body count ran to well over seven hundred -- almost 200 hundred of them American soldiers. Standing alone amidst the carnage, a sole survivor: Captain Frank Castle, who years later would be known as The Punisher.
The wild conclusion to the bloodiest PUNISHER arc yet, as Frank Castle squares off against Barracuda for the final time! It ends here. No rule-or bone-will be left unbroken. And only one walks away.
The cover is super weird... But the comic was truly brutal...
Her name is Sarah, and she's the only thing that's good and pure in Frank Castle's life. The problem? Barracuda's got her - and payback is on his mind. He's bigger, stronger, faster, and more ruthless than his nemesis.
Frank Castle has one fear. Just one. And it's been thirty years since he last confronted it. Driving cross country toward a showdown with Barracuda, he's about to face it again.
Frank Castle is in bad shape. How the scene played out is a mystery. But one thing's for sure. Barracuda has the prize. A 7-pound, 10-ounce bundle of joy. And the Punisher will do anything to get it back.
It's insane how Barracuda survived and looks almost unscratched, but the final twist was worth it, I think... Also the issue got really deep into Frank's inner thoughts, which is good. The series lacks this even if we count only those issues where Frank actually was in.
But anyway, not a big fan of Chaykin, on some panels people have awful proportions. Not the best artist for the tone o more
The Punisher's wildest foe is back! Left gut-shot in shark-infested waters, Barracuda's got a major score to settle with Frank Castle. But Barracuda's no dummy. Charging in with guns blazing is for suckers. He's got something serious planned.
Insanely over the edge, but still epic.
SWF seeks SWM to assist in massive bloodletting and carnage. Must be handy w/ guns & munitions. Bottomless reservoir of pain a plus.
Frank Castle's got a hot date. Her name's Jenny, and she knows a thing or two about bottomless pain and the rage that comes from it. Before the night is through, she'll teach the Punisher a bit about the art of vengeance. And if he's really lucky...?
Five witches stripped her soul bare and left her dead in a ditch, her name never to be uttered again. But she's not dead, and she hasn't forgotten. She's going to take them apart piece by piece, and she's got the perfect partner to do it.
Saved by a random woman again... Any time Punisher gets in a really desperate situation - there's a woman to come out of nowhere to save him. Today it would be called woke. But it's 2007 baby, let's gooooo!
Five mob wives want Frank Castle dead -- and they've got the perfect plan to do it. But there's a hitch: Someone wants payback from them. She's the skeleton in their closet, and she's willing to tap anyone for help. Anyone.
It's funny she wasn't in the car hit by that rocket... And it's even funnier the Punisher bought it. But okay, of course he'll be fine and all 5 of the women will be wasted. Still might be entertaining.
He took away their husbands, and they want payback. Five mob wives unveil their plan to take down the Punisher. But a new player moves onto the field -- one they hadn't anticipated. And she's got plans of her own.
It's a pretty weirdly structured comic... Just like in the previous issue, the Punisher appears only in the beginning. And the first two pages of the previous issue were leading to this. I kinda forgot that, because it was yesterday, so I needed to rewind lol... Also this storyline with a random black cop seemed pointless at first, but it was there only to lead to that one thought about the Punish more
The Five Wives plan to take their deadly revenge on The Punisher. To bring the wolf to their door, all they need is bait.
An interesting idea, but it needs elaboration
Five women, linked by tragedy... and obsession. The Punisher killed their husbands -- put them down like dogs -- and shattered their lives. Now they want payback... and they've hatched the perfect plan to get it.
Despite being boxed in, outmanned and outgunned, Frank Castle stared down General Zakharov ready to resolve unfinished business. Now, stranded in the mountains of Afghanistan, Frank contemplates the two promises he's made to Kathryn O'Brien.
I don't know, it's kinda dumb that O'Brien dies like this... And yet such things never happen to Frank. Ennis gave him a literal immunity to everything, he just comes almost absolutely unharmed out of any insane situation. Meh... There could be a better use for her character.
Punisher's confrontation with The Man of Stone races towards its fatal conclusion!
It's high noon in the mountains of Afghanistan. As Frank Castle and his mercenaries square off against General Zakharov -- a.k.a. "The Man of Stone" -- and a battalion of Russian Marines. The Punisher is boxed in, outmanned -- just the way he likes it.
General Zakharov has returned to the scorched plains of Afghanistan with one thing in mind: Revenge on the man with whom he played chicken on the grandest scale. That man is Frank Castle -- a.k.a. the Punisher -- and he also knows a thing about resolve.
When a mutual enemy of Castle comes with the perfect plan to lure Frank out of his hole, Zakharvo is all ears. That man is Rawlins. His bait? His former wife -- and sometime Castle flame: O'Brien.
That's the spirit! Straight on to the dick torture. Man of stone indeed. Well, that Mother Russia story arc definitely needed a sequel. Now it's on US soil baby.
The last time General Zakharov encountered Frank Castle, the two men were playing chicken with a dozen nuclear warheads over Moscow. Since then, well, let's just say Zakharov's not the type to forgive and forget.
What's more dangerous than a barracuda? You're about to find out. Off the coast of Florida, where human predators converge to enjoy the spoils of corporate warfare, the water is filled with blood. And none of it belongs to Frank Castle.
Dermot and Alice have got a big problem. He weighs 300-pounds -- give or take a severed body part or two, incurred during his recent skirmish with the Punisher. He goes by the name of Barracuda. And he wants some payback.
Frank Castle has definitely seen better days. Beaten to within an inch of his life, then handcuffed and tossed into the Deep Blue Sea, he's got a Great White bearing down on him. If he's going to survive, he's going to have to think quickly.
Okay, so Barracuda is pretty much just like the Russian. Another big tough guy. So far I think he lacks some interesting personality traits and any backstory... Feels like a one story arc only character now.
Frank Castle's never thrown down with anyone like the Barracuda before. And what's waiting for the loser is even worse: some private time in the deep blue sea with a Great White shark!
