• As all of his magic dissipates, Doctor Strange is at the mercy of THE IMPERATOR!
• The powerless sorcerer is no longer supreme and can't possibly best a super-powered foe hell-bent on his destruction.

This was really good. Loved the art, loved the writing. My only knock against it is that the villain is basically just a magic-hating version of Gorr the God Butcher. Even looks a bit like him too. Hoping that there's something about him that makes him different enough. Otherwise, this was great.
"THE LAST DAYS OF MAGIC" STARTS NOW!
The Emperikul have arrived, leaving universes purged of magic in their wake. Their next target? The Marvel Universe. And with Doctor Strange weakened beyond measure? We don't have a chance!

A nice ending to a powerful and beautifully drawn book. This was a story of love, dependence, addiction, and the human need for intimacy and connection. Remender, as he so often does, wrote the hell out of this story and gave us a thought-provoking and heartbreaking but hopeful tale, and Sean Murphy was a perfect fit on art. As I said in a couple previous reviews on issues in this series, I thoughmore
MINISERIES FINALE
The final confrontation for the future of mankind is here. It's Debbie Decay, Mother Nature's own samurai savior, vs Davey Trauma, the Living Singularity. Critically-acclaimed creators RICK REMENDER and SEAN GORDON MURPHY wrap up their tale of tech addiction, unintended consequences, and love in a world populated by the disenf...
The stage is set for the final showdown between Debbie and Davey. I didn't think this issue was as bad as some people apparently did. Debbie summoning the plant creatures made for some really cool visuals and gave some serious Swamp Thing vibes.
The clock is ticking down on Davey Trauma's apocalyptic pleasure cruise, and what he has planned at midnight won't just spell doom for New Los Angeles, but the whole world!
"GOOD OL' FASHIONED VANILLA"
In which a washed-up musician finds a sci-fi fantasy world of living lyrics in his basement. Can he write the song that'll save Harmony City? Or has his milkshake already run dry?
"RAINBOW SPRINKLES"
The second installment of this syrupy series of singular stories! Here, the lives of two very different kinds of opioid abusers intersect. But at whose behest? (I think you know the answer....)
Chocolate, vanilla, existential horror, drug addiction, musical fantasy...there's a flavor for everyone's misery.
ICE CREAM MAN is a genre-defying comic book series featuring disparate "one-shot" tales of sorrow, wonder, and redemption. Each installment features its own cast of strange characters, dealing with their own ...
Holy crap...THIS is up to the standard the first arc set. Heartbreaking, powerful issue.
The Tokyo Ghost has come for Davey Trauma... but Constable Led Dent stands in the way.
I know the whole point of Flak is that he (and his ideas for the city) are disgusting, but like last issue, there were just some things I didn't need to see. This series could be just as good (better, in fact) without some of the explicit depravity that's been shown.
That aside, this was a good issue. We get Debbie back as the Ghost of Tokyo and Davey gets liberated from Flak's control, more
The Tokyo Ghost has come to liberate New Los Angeles from the stranglehold of Flak Industries. But the powerful don't go down without a fight, and this fight's about to get ugly.
• The Witchfinder Wolves are here and Doctor Strange is in trouble.
• The Empirikul is coming, Magic's days are numbered and Strange is not ready!

Chris Bachalo is terrific on art, however I'm not the biggest fan of his using actual photographs for some of the backgrounds. I noticed it in some clouds in a previous issue, and then he did it twice in this one with the coral reef and the snowy mountains. For me, it's just a bit distracting and kinda creates a dissassociation. Bachalo is a fantastic artist, and he's turning out some gorgeous artmore
• Doctor Strange has gathered a circle of magic-using friends to try and best monitor magic in the Marvel Universe.
• But this tactic is too late as forces are destroying all magical objects and beings in the multiverse and they are turning their sights on our dimension.
• At least Strange won't hav...
After what I would consider a perfect first arc, this issue was a bit of a step down. I realize some setup was needed after a time jump and that they kept Debbie out of the spotlight in order to tease the "Ghost of Tokyo" at the end (which was admittedly very cool and probably the best part of the issue), but I also found certain other elements of this issue to be a little too over-the-top for me.more
NEW STORY ARC
Flak world's new CCO, Davey Trauma, is making some changes to The Isles of Los Angeles more to his suiting. How could it get any worse? You'll see. Constable Led Dent returns to his brutal beat, but he's haunted by a ghost from Tokyo.
This is shaping up to be one of my favourite Rick Remender works of all time. I don't think anything will ever beat Seven to Eternity for me, but this may be a very close second. The writing and art are both at absolute peak quality. Nothing bad to say about this series so far.
As Eden burns around her, Debbie fights to save the man she loves from the monster he's become.
The villain Aaron is setting up seems like a Gorr the God Butcher type, except one that kills sorcerers instead of gods. Hopefully he's distinct enough from Gorr that it won't feel like the same storyline. But for now, this is good.
• Dr. Strange wakes up, nearly naked with none of his magical tools or spellbooks and no memory of how he got there.
• Nor does he know where all the monsters chasing him came from.

• Take a tour of Doctor Strange's home-- the Sancto Sanctorum. It's the weirdest and most dangerous place in the Marvel Universe! A place where opening the wrong door can unleash hell on Earth.
• Unfortunately for you and your fellow visitor, Zelma, Strange's house is infested with something far worse than bed bugs!
I liked this quite a bit. Well written and with fantastic art. I love the ominous tease of something terrible coming in the future, reminds me of how Aaron teased War of the Realms early in his Thor run. Looking forward to how things play out!
Who do you call when things are coming out of your dreams and trying to kill you? Or when your daughter is cursing in Latin and walking like a spider? Or when your dog keeps screaming at you to strangle your neighbors? Doctor Strange, of course. He's the only person standing between us and the forces of darkness, but has he been paying his tab? Eve...
Holy smokes...what a brutal, bloody, action-packed issue.
Life in paradise is cut short for Led and Debbie, as a snake from their past seeks vengeance on the Constable.
Well that was unexpectedly poignant...what a beautifully moving ending to a fun little series.
• ROCKET AND GROOT REUNITED! What more do you need?
The Mantron <3
• You didn't think we were going to tell the story of one of Groot's adventures without bringing BABY GROOT into the fray, did you?
• With his goal of reuniting with his best friend (and interpreter) Rocket Raccoon within reach, Groot's only got a ship full of mercenaries to contend with. Should be a piece of cake, rig...
Phenomenal read. Every page is a masterpiece of art, and Remender's writing is beautifully tragic. This issue had some wonderful, happy moments, so I just know that I'm going to have my heart torn to pieces very soon.
Led and Debbie find their target in the Gardens of Tokyo, a messianic figure that keeps the island free of all technology.
• Groot assembles a ragtag band of aliens to go after Eris and finally save his long-last pal, Rocket!
• An EXPLOSIVE surprise sets his plans off-course, though!

Brief though it was, it was really nice to see Norrin and Dawn again. Been missing them ever since I finished reading Slott's Surfer run.
• ALONE AND ADRIFT, Groot's got nobody to turn to now that his best pal Rocket Raccoon has been kidnapped!
• What's worse, cosmic calamity continues to strike, and when a cosmic storm threatens to destroy an entire world, it's up to Groot to stop it - but he can't do it alone!
• Featuring special gu...
This was a beautiful look at Rocket and Groot's friendship. The scene where Groot teared up when Rocket could finally understand him was so touching. Also, what a genius idea to use illustrations within the text art to show us what Groot is saying when Rocket isn't there to provide context with his responses. Absolutely brilliant!
Also...NORRIN AND DAWN!!!
• STRANDED, and without anyone who can understand what's coming out of his mouth, it's Groot vs The Cosmos in a trek to get his best friend back!
• Featuring a special guest star who's REALLY OUTTA THIS WORLD!
• Groot may look intimidating, but, trust us, he's all bark!
Rated T
Tragic. But brilliant.
Also, Sean Murphy might just be one of the most talented artists in the industry. Argue with a wall. This issue proves it.
Constables Led Dent and Debbie Decay are given their final mission: purge their bodies of all technology and invade the Garden Nation of Tokyo.
This was fun.
• For the first time ever, the most famous talking-tree-thing in the Marvel Universe is starring in his own series! You might recognize him from Guardians of the Galaxy, the biggest movie of 2014.
• When Rocket and Groot are on an intergalactic roadtrip and calamity strikes, the two get separated - and for the first ti...
I don't think this really had anything to do with Halloween.
Selina's heading back to Gotham City, but not before she deals with the betrayals and truths she's uncovered. In this case, it's not about who wins, but who loses the least!
