It's not bad, I just wish that these new characters weren't so insufferable. I'd love to be able to cheer for them, but I just feel like I can't. Too much teenage angst.
It's Task Force X's first mission as a brand-new team of blood enemies, and things have already gone horribly wrong! As Squad members start to turn on each other, the mission rapidly falls to pieces-but new team leader Lok will let no bad deed go unpunished. Who will take the fall? One thing's for sure: there will be hell to pay...
The art is great, but I don't really like the new characters. These so-called "Revolutionaries". Also, I'm not sure I liked how much of a pussy Deadshot seemed to be in this... He just kinda stood around and did nothing, and then allowed Osita and the others to do whatever they wanted, even after they essentially left him to die in that crashing plane.
After the absolute carnage of Suicide Squad #1, a new Task Force X has been assembled-even before the bodies of teammates and friends have had a chance to cool! What's left standing may be the most capable and uncompromising Suicide Squad ever brought together. But it's also the most divided. Forced to fulfill the agenda of a cruel new taskmaster, ...

Ugh...man. This was a tragic issue that really adds a layer of emotional complexity to Kang, and I absolutely love it. "A villain could not gain her love. And a hero could not save her life." Dang...that's just heartbreaking. Kang realizes the only way to win Ravonna's heart is to show that he can be merciful, but it's that very mercy that leads to her demise. Brilliant more
Unstoppable force meets immovable object as Nathaniel Richards’ mission to change his timeline slams into a horrible inevitability: the tragic fate of Kang’s great love, Ravonna Renslayer. Can young Kang avert catastrophe and find his way to a better future? Or is he doomed to repeat the same cycle of tragedy and violence for all eternity?
This was a solid start. I have a feeling most of the young "freedom fighters" are going to annoy me, but we didn't get enough of most of them in this issue to really grind my gears, so it was tolerable. That Lok guy is a ginormous prick, although that is kinda the point. Looking forward to him getting his. Don't know what this series has in store, but hopefully there's more of what was in this iss more
Task Force X-nicknamed the Suicide Squad-unites some of the DCU's unlikeliest villains for its bloodiest series yet! The Squad's new mission is to neutralize a new group of international super-terrorists known as the Revolutionaries-and not everyone on either side will make it out back alive! But when the U.S. government's most deniable team of do-...
"Time means nothing to Kang." "...and Kang means nothing to DOOM." Wow. This mini is so well written it's crazy. Kelly and Lanzing do such a phenomenal job with this character. It's difficult to write from a villain's perspective and make you both cheer for and against him, but they've managed to write Kang as an arrogant, brash, self-righteous prick who you somehow still want to succeed, because more
• Young Kang stalks his future self to the site of his first major battle with the Avengers, hoping to change the course of his destiny once and for all. But the fate of the villainous Doctor Doom has long been entwined with Kang's - and no one interferes with Victor Von Doom's timeline but Victor Von Doom.

ENDGAME HAS ARRIVED! The moment that has been building since the beginning of the new Ultimate Universe! Spinning out of Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri's ULTIMATES comes the culmination of ULTIMATE INVASION… Two (thousand) years have passed in the Ultimate Universe, but inside the City, the Maker has had thousands of years to prepare for his return!...
I can't appreciate killing off Martha. But all in all, it's a good issue.
It has all been leading to this. The final battle against Ra’s Al Ghul, for the fate of Smallville and the soul of Superman!

And there you have it. I enjoyed this series and this ending more than expected. I still think it could've gone on a little longer and fleshed out the story a bit more post-twist, but at least it didn't overstay its welcome, which would've been the danger of it continuing on. This is a series that will probably stick with me for a while now that it's done; and as I've said, I will definitely have more
SERIES FINALE
Everything ends! Don't miss the harrowing conclusion to IVAN BRANDON and NIC KLEIN's seminal sci-fi series.
This issue was unreal. Kelly and Lanzing have produced a gem of a comic here, not to mention the jaw-dropping art of Carlos Magno. I absolutely loved the setting here and the use of not only Rama-Tut, but Khonshu and Apocalypse as well. The narration is incredibly well-written, and the story is super engaging. I'm usually annoyed by teenage protagonists, but I find myself fully invested in young K more
A young, rebellious and idealistic Kang finds himself in Ancient Egypt, where an older version of himself is ruling with an iron fist as the pharaoh Rama-Tut. When the Moon Knight draws young Kang into a battle against his future self, tragedy strikes. But will it knock Nathaniel off the course of his destiny or lock him into one path forever?

This issue was basically just about everybody figure out what's going on. It was necessary, but not overly eventful. Still, it helped me process things a little bit more too. Looking forward to the last issue, but at the same time not wanting it to end. I feel like this could've gone on longer now that the twist has been revealed. The potential is there for even more story now that our characters more
Abram Pollux finally retraces the steps that brought him to Planet Ouro, and the final mystery of his arrival is revealed. Don't miss the penultimate issue of IVAN BRANDON & NIC KLEIN's sci-fi mindbender DRIFTER.
Humanity broke the barrier between our universe and our universe’sshadow. From the void came horrific apparitions that craved nothing butdestruction. But from this terror…a legend was born. A warrior who found away to access the energy that binds our universe and the shadow universe, transforming him into a cosmic dark knight. This immortal lege...
My mind has been blown to smithereens. A part of me wishes the twist had been easier to guess a lot earlier...but I am a sucker for a rug-pulled-out-from-under-you moment too, so this reveal is perfectly acceptable too. Wow... Finally getting answers as to what the ever-loving heck is going on is like breathing clean oxygen for the first time after being stuck in a musty old basement for years. No more
Pollux has been searching for the truth ever since he arrived on Ouro. But now the truth finds him, and sometimes that's the worst thing that can happen to you.
I really dug this. It was very wordy, to be sure, but it was incredibly well written, and the art was outstanding. I'm generally not the biggest fan of characters going back in time and meeting their younger selves...but if it makes sense for anyone to do it, it would be Kang. This was a super solid start and I'm hungry for more. Looking forward to seeing how this young Kang grows into the villain more
THE ORIGIN OF KANG!
The man called Kang the Conqueror has been a pharaoh, a villain, a warlord of the space ways and even, on rare occasions, a hero. Across all timelines, one fact seemed absolute: Time means nothing to Kang the Conqueror.
But the truth is more complex. Kang is caught in an endless cycle of creation and destruction dictate...
A fun end to a fun comic. Not all the jokes landed, the plot wasn't overly original or particularly interesting for that matter, and neither Frank nor Wade were written perfectly, but it had violent action, good art, fun cameos, and a simple, easy-to-follow story that made for a good palate cleanser after reading some convoluted and overly long comics lately. It may not go down as one of my favour more

This was awesome. Again, Taskmaster is such a cool character and I absolutely love when he's written well, which he is here. Honestly, he's better written than either Frank or Deadpool, which is a little unfortunate considering they're the main characters of this story...but oh well. The art was great; I love Van Lente's way of showing who Taskmaster is copying at any given time. He used the same more
• I just realized -
• Deadpool has trouble being frank...
• And Frank Castle has trouble being dead.
• ...well, I thought it was funny.

I feel like I'm on the verge of piecing together what's going on...but I do wish we'd gotten a bit more help along the way. This could be a mind-blowing twist that they're setting up, but I would've liked for it to be something that's slowly revealed bit by bit rather than us being left totally confused for most of the series and then given the important answers at the very end. I may have to rere more
Death and madness threaten to consume Abram Pollux as he uncovers the hidden truth about Planet Ouro.
Taskmaster is such a cool character. I love seeing him in action when he's written well. I didn't think Frank was as well written in this one unfortunately... And Deadpool's jokes didn't land as much. It's still highly entertaining, I just don't have as much of an emotional connection to what's going on as I did to Van Lente's Taskmaster mini. I know it's not fair to compare them, but it's a littl more

Pollux and Emmerich finally face each other again and it's intense as heck and, as with most things in this series, confusing as heck. I've been more confused by a series while still enjoying it this much. I'm even confused by how much I'm enjoying it. Yes the art is consistently breathtaking, but I should be frustrated by now with how many questions I've had and how few I've gotten answers to. Bu more
NEW STORY ARC
Ghost Town is destroyed. The planet Ouro is coming apart at the seams. But even with the world breaking around him, all Abram Pollux can think of is revenge on the man named Bell Emmerich.
Prepare yourself for the beginning of the end in IVAN BRANDON and NIC KLEIN's brooding sci-fi epic...
The Don of the Dead isn’t just a brief cameo! And Taskmaster too?? This is great. As someone who thought Fred Van Lente's Taskmaster mini was one of the most underrated gem comics ever, I'm thrilled to see these characters back in this. The story, dialogue, and action weren't quite as good here, but it's still highly entertaining.
Frank Castle has an unstoppable will - a powerful drive to punish those who do wrong, rooted in the tragic killing of his family. Wade Wilson has an unstoppable mouth - an unthinking knack for annoying everyone around him, rooted in thinking he's funny. Both men, however, are among the deadliest on the planet. When they find themselves in disagreem...
This was pure, bloody, violent fun. A perfect palate-cleanser of a comic book if you're looking for something entertaining, well-illustrated, and with an easy-to-follow plot. I liked the characterization of Frank and Wade; Van Lente's humour is great (I particularly liked the way the heroes and villains were named on the screen at the VS bar). Also, the Don of the Dead from Van Lente's Taskmaster more

Honestly, this was a pretty good last issue for Fraction and Brubaker. On its own merit, it works really well and does a good job setting up future plot while also feeling like a conclusion of sorts. That said, it's hard to be fully satisfied after what was at times a convoluted and disjointed run. Also, one thing I found interesting was that Danny is now giving away all of his fortune after havin more

Danny Rand is turning 33 years old. But it's not all birthday cakes and presents for the Iron Fist! 33 is not a number that bodes well for the legacy of the Iron Fist. Find out why!

END OF STORY ARC
Seared by the flames of war, Ghost Town's survivors are forced to make an impossible decision. Abram Pollux makes a discovery that shakes everything we know about Ouro.
It's been a gripe of mine before, and it's still a gripe of mine now. These one-shots are completely unnecessary and add nothing to the ongoing plot of this run. I get that the writers are trying to deepen the lore and get their readers to understand the weight and significance of carrying the Iron Fist mantle, which I suppose they hope will...I don't know...give people a greater sense of awe and more
Another story of an Iron Fist from years past -- Bei Bang-Wen, Iron Fist of the 1800s!
There are issues that are action-packed, and then there are issues that are overflowing with it. This is the latter kind. Brutal, visceral, bloody. Art was absolutely breathtaking.
The Wheeler assault threatens to swallow Ghost Town and everyone in it.
