Bitter Root #3 builds on its setting and events from prior issues; with the death of a couple police officers in issue #1 leading to a large-scale raid of Harlem, coincidentally at the same location the comic started at. Greene's depiction of the police brutality at the "Sweet Pickin'", especially when compared to the same location's appearance at the start of the first issue, makes for an incredibly striking image. Page 13 especially depicts the officers as almost animals; with the phrase "seeing red" often being a literal part of the depiction of jinoo. Although, I feel like the more animalistic design the jinoo have distances it a little bit from their representation of real racial discrimination, I feel like retaining more human aspects in the designs of jinoo, and inzondo, would be beneficial. more
