The triumphant new era of Conan continues!
From acclaimed creators Jim Zub (Avengers, Dungeons & Dragons) and Doug Braithwaite (Punisher, Justice)!
In the days following Bêlit's tragic demise, Conan travels through jungles of the southern kingdoms but there's no time for grief - a deadly hunter stalks the Cimmerian, bent on bloody vengeance. Who is this strange foe and what do they know about the ancient power rising in Stygia?
CONAN THE BARBARIAN #20 is a fantastic return to form for the series when Conan is forced to deal with the demons of his past during a jungle quest. Jim Zub's voice for Conan and reverence for Robert E. Howard's style are in top form, and Doug Braithwaite's art is fantastic. Read Full Review
Jim Zub continues to captivate me with his stories of Conan the Barbarian and his many adventures. The comic stays true to the novels I remember reading in the 1980s, when I was diving into reprints of the classic Robert E. Howard tales. I really enjoyed the shape-shifting warrior and the battle with Conan, but what stood out to me most was how the ritual played out. We're left with a fantastic cliffhanger, where Sura attempts to sell the ancient Stygian Dagger to a tradersomething that's bound to end in trouble. Read Full Review
Another great story with great art.I would highly recommend this one for all Conan fans.
Though I think the jumping from story to story is jarring, I think the artwork and feel of Conan is accurately captured in this series. It remains as one of my favorites each month. This story losely ties into the previous story with Belit where Conan was stabbed with the viper dagger. We have no idea how much time has passed, however. We are re-introduced to the ahapshifter Zula, who can turn into a woman, complete with new clothing. Conan goes on a vision quest to defeat the demon growing inside him. Let's see where it goes from here.
