I really do love these comics that fill in any gaps, and X-Men: Xavier's Secret is probably one of the best ones I've read in awhile. I really appreciated that it was two stories in one, and showed us how the pillars of the X-Men got to where they are today. Read Full Review

Overall, X-Men: Xavier's Secret #1 is a strong start to a new storyline that explores the lingering consequences of Krakoa's fall and unearths a dark secret from the X-Men's past. It's a must-read for fans of the X-Men and those interested in character-driven stories with a strong mystery element. Read Full Review

Neves delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. Both stories have great visuals and an unique visual style to them that matches their narrative tones. Read Full Review

I skipped this comic when it came out, but after the abysmal X-Manhunt I wanted to know what the retcon was all about, so I forced myself to read these two stories, both written and drawn by Alex Paknadel and Diogenes Neves. Forced, because I haven’t come across writing and art that bad very often.
What makes this worse is the laughable retcon itself. I don’t know if leaving Xavier‘s actions un-retconned would have been better though. At this point I think the X-Men books are just done. I can’t continue reading this crap.

Insulting to anyone who loved the end of the Krakoan era. A blatant and sloppy hack job to retcon away one of the most poignant portions of the Fall of X. Reeks of editorial mandate to sweep the Fall of X under the rug at any cost.
