It's really irritating that the users on this site most devoted to reviewing X-Men are hate-readers who don't even pretend to be acting in good faith.
Because of their bs, I was tempted to rate this one-shot higher than I think it deserves, just to even things out a bit, but I won't.
This issue is very skippable. If you are hoping to read the Age of Revelation event but also are a bit stretched financially by the enormous number of tie-in series, you should know that this one-shot has three stories, and only one seems likely to matter to the overarching event: the first one, which is written by Al Ewing.
Ewing takes us back to Arakko, which is where the action of his (awesome) X-Men: Red series took place more

Boring artwork with even less boring text. At no time did I even care to try to figure out who the cloaked man was. I was basically asleep by the time it was revealed to be Chuck talking with Apoky.

The art isn't boring, it's just bleh. The story, well it makes me miss Jim Shooter even more. Shooter had an EIC edict that every issue was somebody's first issue; it's obvious that this simple idea is long gone at Marvel as you have to guess who anyone is. Hulking is kind of obvious but the rest - nuttin'. I eventually figured out gold/silver face is Cypher but I still don't have a clue who female cat lady is or the bum who had his back broke more
