Ultimate X-Men #14 ramps up the pace and the action, albeit with a distinct lack of purpose or direction. Peach Momoko's coming-of-age, slice-of-life actioner is a weirdly odd fit for Shojo Manga lovers, but the title, as presented, practically orders traditional Marvel fans to stay away. Ultimate X-Men #14 shows the best and worst of this series all in one package. Visually, the imaginative artwork that has made this stand out from all other Marvel titles is alive and well. It is the resolution, or lack thereof, when it comes to the overarching Shadow King and Armor narrative that the ball is dropped. By the end all we can hope for is that Maystorm and the rest of the cast move on so we start getting the X-Men series this comic book should be. Read Full Review
The nightmare continues! I can't go any further without giving Peach Momoko her flowers. Her application for the water color style is so versatile, seemingly limitless. There's a few new elements introduced in this issue, setting up the next chapter on this series: the astral plane, the "MY-X" project and a cameo by a certain southern belle.
The MY-X project seems to be the end game for the Maker's Council and their intentions for Hi No Kuni. No further details beyond what we already know, human/mutant DNA experimentations.
