I thought this was an excellent addition to the thrilling event of X-Men: Age of Revelation! I love how we're getting so many different perspectives of characters who's been affected by the Gene Bomb and the X-Virus, as well as Revelation himself! Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke Oct 22, 2025

The Last Wolverine #1 delivers an intriguing new angle on the Wolverine mythos, positioning Leonard the Wendigo as a symbolic heir rather than a literal successor. While Saladin Ahmed's writing deftly expands the Age of Revelation world and gives X-Men fans a few exciting twists, Leonard's journey lacks the grit and complexity that made Logan's legacy endure. There's almost enough here to evolve into something feral and unforgettable, but it's not looking great. Read Full Review

I almost didn't read this one because I had shrugged off Ahmed's Wolverine after just one issue, but this was unexpectedly charming! I don't know the history here since I haven't read the main series, but I found it quite new reader friendly — it never felt like I needed to know who Leonard is beyond "He's a monster who Wolverine saved". IDK if the actual plot is particularly interesting, but Leonard being earnest and wholesome like Superman while trying his best to fill the void left by the subverted Wolverine hooked me. We'll see if that's enough to carry me through three issues, but I'll at least be back for #2
