Mirco Piefederici tackles the art for this series, delivering a more traditional penciled style compared to the somewhat painterly look of books like Dark Wolverine. At its best, the book is bright and expressive despite the grim and grisly subject matter. The colors certainly help in this regard. Unfortunately, Piefederici's work falters whenever the characters assume more irregular poses, becoming flat and distorted. But even despite those flaws, this is shaping up to be one of the more attractive Marvel Zombies books. Read Full Review

Marvel Zombies has become, to many, a punchline: The series that, like it's lumbering protagonists, keeps going long after it should have fallen to pieces. When MZ5 brought the team of Howard The Duck and Machine Man together, it was the equivalent of Power Man/Iron Fist back in the 70′s, an infusion of buddy comedy that pretty much meant the death of the cultural touchstones that created them. This book continues that trend, taking what we know and trying to up the ante just a little more to make it more awesomer. Marvel Zombies Destroy #1 is okay, but nowhere near the thunderbolt that Marvel Zombies #1 was back in '06, earning a diluted and overexposed 2 out of 5 stars overall... Read Full Review

Finally, it's not Van Lente. Hmm, it seems better, than I thought. Not that bad at all and the art is cool. The team of heroes here is not good. Because some of them are from 1940 and the others were created simply for this exact series. And most of them die. And yeah, most of the 1940 heroes will die too... What a weird way to commemorate. However, Howard is still awesome and Dugan is fine too. Let's see what happens next and how their team will lose more and more heroes.
