Nerd Initiative - Yancy Arce Nov 5, 2025

Jed Mackay brought to life the phrase "the devil you know through this version of Magik. There's a social and political commentary through the citizens of Providence. The decision of serving the demon Darkchild instead of testing their luck in any of the Revelation territories is relatable. As a reader you feel for those civilians trapped in the middle. But this is the brilliance of Jed MacKay in full display. This is an example of the Dilemma fallacy. Darkchild presents herself as the lesser of two evils. As if there were no other choices. However, here's the X-Men, fighting to make a change for good. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke Nov 5, 2025

Amazing X-Men #2 may be lean on story, but it's loaded with style, character nuance, and thematic precision. Jed MacKay and Mahmud Asrar craft a tight, visually stunning showdown that frames Cyclops as both strategist and moral compass in a world on the brink. While its brevity keeps it from feeling like a meal, it's still a perfectly cooked crepe of mutant heroismlayered, flavorful, and satisfying for any Cyclops fan. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez Nov 5, 2025

Amazing X-Men #2 is a bullish bet for anyone seeking high-stakes mutant drama, bold art, and rollicking conflict. There's teeth in every page, and very little wasted ink. It's not the sleeper hit for long-term holders, but if you're seeking a comic that justifies its premium, this issue earns its place on a curated pull list. Your entertainment dollar goes a long way if you're ready for a challenge; for less adventurous investors, this may be too much volatility in one shot. Read Full Review

I’m shocked. This is probably the first time Jed McKay’s writing actually works. He definitely made his homework regarding Scott and Illyana’s histories and it all comes together seamlessly. I also liked the weird little details, such as the workers producing suffering as sustenance for Limbo or Animalia changing into different animal forms. Mahmud Asrar makes it all look great too. So, as much as I wanted to, I can’t really hate this book. From all the AoR books, Amazing X-Men is the only one I enjoyed so far.
